After a week of scandal surrounding Bachelor in Paradise and its cast, we are finally getting some happy news about the show!
‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 3 couple Evan Bass and Carly Waddell got married on Saturday in Mexico. The couple, who got engaged last summer during the Season 3 finale, were married by Bachelor franchise host Chris Harrison, of course.
People magazine reports that the wedding took place at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta, a resort near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and that Evan and Carly said “I do” in a ceremony held next to the ocean. The magazine posted the first photo from the nuptials, showing Carly wearing a long lace gown and a fishtail braid and Evan in a gray suit. The wedding was reportedly attended by other former ‘Bachelor’ franchise stars.
Evan and Carly were an unlikely pair for most of their season of ‘Bachelor in Paradise.’ Carly often stated that she was not attracted to Evan romantically, but she eventually had a change of heart by the end of the season. Evan proposed to Carly during the season’s final episode and she accepted. (Two other couples– Lace Morris and Grant Kemp, and Amanda Stanton and Josh Murray, also became engaged at the end of Season 3, but both couples have since broken up.)
“I’m not your normal dude that’s on these shows,” Evan told People. “I’m definitely more emotional. And she accepts me. I love that.”
After ‘Paradise,’ Carly and Evan moved in together in Nashville, which allowed Carly to get to know Evan’s three sons.
Carly and Evan are the second couple from ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ to officially tie the knot. (Some may say they are the third; however the marriage of ‘BIP’ Season 1 couple Lacy Faddoul and Marcus Grodd kind of ended up being a sham.) Season 2 couple Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert got married in January 2016 and are now expecting a baby together.
According to multiple media outlets, Carly and Evan’s wedding was supposed to be televised during ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 4, which should have been filming right now. However, last week it was announced that production of the season had been suspended due to allegations of misconduct. It’s become quite a mess since then, but you can read all about the scandal surrounding ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 4 by clicking here!
According to E! Online, Carly and Evan’s wedding was still filmed by ABC and will likely air as a special on the network at some point in the future.

I am so happy for them! They both seem like genuinely good people. I am glad it worked out for them!
FWIW, this is sweet and I really do hope that they’re happy — they make a cute couple.
She was so desperate to get married! She would have married anyone who showed interest in her!
