Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson says she’s considering motherhood, though not anytime soon.
The 18-year-old Mama June: Family Crisis star recently spoke to DailyMail about starting a family with her boyfriend, 22-year-old Dralin Carswell, whom she began dating publicly in September 2021.
While Alana and Dralin currently live together in Denver, Colorado, where Alana is attending Regis University and studying to become a neonatal nurse, Alana insists the two won’t be making any Honey Boo Boo babies in the near future.
“He wants kids and I don’t want kids,” Alana told the outlet. “I told him after I graduate school and stuff, then that would be the time to talk about kids.
“I definitely don’t want no kids while I’m in school, for sure,” she added.
Alana made a similar statement back in April 2023 on TikTok Live when addressing the rumor that she was pregnant. The rumor about the then 17-year-old began to heavily circulate after photos of her in her prom dress were posted online.
“Like, no I’m not pregnant!” Alana stated. “I haven’t even graduated high school yet, okay? I want to graduate, I want to go to college before I even think about having kids. So no, I’m not pregnant…”
Alana claims Dralin is open to having several kids with her when the time comes, though Alana said becoming a mom of many isn’t in her future.
“I told him, ‘I can meet you in the middle and we can have one. One and done, that’s it,’” she said.
Alana is already older than most of the women in her family were when they had their first child. Alana’s mom, June Shannon, was only 15 when she gave birth to her oldest daughter, Anna. In turn, Anna was 17 when she had her first daughter, Kaitlyn. Alana’s other sister, Lauryn (aka “Pumpkin”) was also 17 when she had her daughter Ella in 2017.
On the current season of ‘Mama June: Family Crisis,’ viewers will watch as Dralin heads to court over legal issues that nearly prevent him from joining Alana in Colorado.
(As The Ashley told you in October, Dralin pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a February 2023 police chase.)
Even while dealing with legal issues, Alana claims Dralin has continued to be a very supportive and motivating partner to her.
“He just takes care of me,” she said. “He makes sure my head’s on straight. If I’m getting like, a bad grade in school, he’s like, ‘What are you doing that for? You need to get to it. You need to get up there in that room and study!’
“ … Or say that I need to do an assignment that’s due,” she continued. “He’s like, ‘Well, why are we going out to get something to eat? We need to be home doing that assignment.’”
Alana, who referred to Dralin as her boyfriend and “best friend,” also has the support of her family, who consider Dralin a part of their family.

“Dralin’s great. His whole family is great,” Alana’s sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon said. “ … I just feel like [over] the last four years, Dralin’s just become one of us.”
Alana’s sisters Lauryn and Jessica Shannon and her mom, Mama June Shannon, believe that Dralin is “the one” for Alana, though the teen seems to remain less certain of that herself.
“I’m not sure,” she said. “I hope so.”

Pretty sad ya’all judge her by her family how would ya’all like to be judge all bc of our family? If her family didn’t have a TV show you wouldn’t know a thing about her just like she doesn’t know a thing about you if you don’t have your self a TV show? Just insane famous ppl all get judge bc of things shown on tv.
Could they find a more ill fitting prom dress? Could it be more hideous? How did she walk in that thing?

Changed my whole opinion on them. Not sure about Jessica but the rest are just awful grifters, who beg for money & insult their customers while they sale their over priced knock of Temu & Shein products. They call them names & keep their money if they screw up something. Pumpkin doesn’t even live in the house or the house before they acted like they live in. They live in the house Anna got married at. And everyone is giving June money to fight Anna’s daughter custody case over a man who raised her basically her whole life. Oh and don’t forget Justin has kids he doesn’t see either.
I had kids late in life and it’s not easy even when you do it right, I can’t imagine someone Gavin’s knowledge of how hard it is willingly choosing it early on

Who’s to say yours is any better or that you’re better than anyone else?
Sorry, agree to disagree. Some of her actions have been very questionable, child or not. The fact she continues to remain with her thug of a boyfriend speaks volumes. I wouldn’t want her having anything to do with my newborn baby & would request a new nurse, if she makes it through. Passing nursing school doesn’t mean as much as some think it does.
Yeah…good luck on grilling all of the nurses on their (none of your business) personal lives while they’re monitoring your unstable, intubated premie.
Taking out of the question criminal history (and remember: it only shows up on a background check if there was a conviction) neonatal nurses really aren’t any less messed up than rest of the population. 😅
No one would have to ‘grill’ the girl, people know who she is. Once she chose to continue airing her dirty laundry on TV & continue giving an interview to anyone who will listen, she has no ‘personal’ business anymore.
Many people know who she is, there is no need to grill or question anyone.
I have had babies in the NICU (and neither got to come home, ftr, so I’m rather passionate about this, just prefacing….).
If I saw her taking care of my babies, I would demand someone else do it, period. She does not only have questionable character, but questionable life choices, intelligence, capabilities, psychological fortitude, pretty much everything about her is questionable. Although frankly I don’t see her actually finishing out any degree program (I do hope I am wrong, but the chances are still pretty slim), there is always the chance she does. If she does, she won’t last long in a NICU. It takes a special kind of person to do that sort of work, and she doesn’t have it in her, even aside from her who family. She, as a person, is shitty, plain and simple.
I did something similar when one of the nurses who was looking after one of my preemies gave me this absolutely off vibe from the moment I met her. I later saw her, not once but multiple times, being a complete see you next tuesday elsewhere on hospital grounds. I overheard her talking about the babies and their families and generally being exactly what I’ve already called her. A one off, ok, I don’t like it, but it’s a beyond stressful job and I can see this happening. Multiple instances of her showing her true character, I do not want my baby’s life in her hands, PERIOD.
I’ve watched her on the show and I think she’s an ignorant little show off. I couldn’t care less that she goes to college and wants to be a nurse. She has the worst attitude and mouth I’ve ever heard. She talks like a total brat! You can hardly understand her when she’s yelling her hillbilly talk and swearing at the tv cameras. And her boyfriend? Oh please! He lives off of her and has already been in trouble with the law. He and Alana proudly post stuff like “Fuck the cops” on social media. Oh yes, she’s real class!! LOL!! Do I think I’m better than her you ask? Uh, yes I do.
