Jamie McKay, who starred on the third season of 16 and Pregnant, surprised her social media followers today when she revealed that she and her longtime boyfriend Ryan McElrath recently welcomed their second child! While the couple was very public about Jamie’s first pregnancy with their four-year-old daughter Miah (she had the baby on national TV, after all!), they decided to keep the second pregnancy very quiet. In fact, Jamie never even announced on her social media accounts that she was pregnant!

It’s a boy for 16 and Pregnant Season 1 star Whitney Purvis and her boyfriend Weston Gosa! The couple, who starred alongside Farrah Abraham, Maci Bookout and Amber Portwood on the very first season of ’16 and Pregnant’ back in 2009, welcomed their second child on Tuesday. They named the new baby boy River Blake Gosa.
Whitney posted a few photos to her Facebook account after River’s birth, showing Weston all suited up in a surgical gown, which likely means Whitney had a C-section to deliver River. The baby weighed in at 9 lbs. 5 oz. and appears to be healthy.
Another 16 and Pregnant marriage has gone belly-up! Karley Shipley, who married the father of her twin girls, Tony, right before MTV began filming her for the show, has announced that she and Tony are separating.
On Saturday, Karley opened up about the split on her Ask.fm account, stating that she and the twins will be moving out of the home she shares with Tony and back into her parent’s house. However, their separation appears to be amicable at this point, judging from one of the statements Karley posted.
It’s been nearly five months since the girls of 16 and Pregnant Season 5 filmed their “Life After Labor” reunion special in New York City. A lot has changed since that weekend–relationships have ended, marriages have busted, and legal drama has ensued. Fans of the show will get to see all the drama play out on TV because The Ashley can exclusively reveal that MTV is in the process of organizing a “Where Are They Now?” special for the Season 5 girls! While few details are available right now, The Ashley’s sources tell her that many of the Season 5 girls recently received phone calls from their producers about doing a catch-up special. Not all of the girls have signed on to do the special (yet) and filming has not started, but it is definitely happening, according to multiple Season 5 sources, unless a bunch of the girls decline to participate, which is highly unlikely.
Yet another girl from 16 and Pregnant has announced that she is pregnant again! It seems that every month, another girl from the series (which is, in case you’ve forgotten, designed to prevent pregnancy in young girls) reveals that she is once again knocked up.
Last month, Season 3 star Allie Mendoza (who is probably best remembered as the girl that had to deal with her baby daddy’s crazy, drug-addicted mother on her episode of ’16 and Pregnant’) revealed that she and her boyfriend Chris are expecting a child. Allie revealed the news that they were “expanding” by posting an Instagram photo of four pairs of shoes, which obviously represented Allie, Chris, Allie’s son Aydenn, and a new baby.
MTV struck ratings gold in 2009 when it took a chance on a pregnancy-related reality show called 16 and Pregnant. That, of course, became a mega-hit and stemmed several popular spin-offs including Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2, and now it appears that the network is preparing to add another show to its baby-related reality show offerings!
Several MTV casting directors tell The Ashley that they are currently looking for girls to take part in a new documentary series about pregnancy! The new show will feature girls that have found themselves pregnant after having an overseas rendezvous and are now trying to reconnect with the person that fathered their child!
