Pia Toscano’s elimination caused the jaws of millions of Americans to drop last week (and, as The Ashley told you, a bunch of people to lose money in Vegas!)
The only person who wasn’t completely in disbelief about Pia getting voted off was Pia herself.
“It’s funny, because the night before I had like a weird feeling in my stomach,” she said in the official post-elimination conference call. “I don’t know…I kind of expected it. It was weird.
“I have a lot of like premonitions sometimes and usually when I feel something it happens,” she said. “I don’t know why I had that feeling, because I had a good time at my performance. I don’t have any regrets, so I really don’t know why I felt that way, but it kind of prepared me. ”
What’s odd is that last season, Crystal Bowersox reported that she woke up the morning of the finale and had a strange feeling in her stomach, and “just knew” that she wasn’t going to win. I guess women’s intuition runs very strong on ‘Idol.’
Perhaps it was due to Casey‘s emotional elimination night breakdown a few weeks ago, but the ‘Idol’ producers sent a medic to walk Pia off the stage once she had been eliminated! (I didn’t even notice!)
“I wasn’t feeling so good. It was a tough moment for me, I was having—while I was singing it was very, very hard for me to get through that song,” she said. “I was just trying to take deep breaths, and it wasn’t working out so well. I was just getting very light headed.”
Anyway, everyone was dying to know who Pia thought was going to win, now that she herself wasn’t able to.
Her answer:
“I truly love every single one of the contestants. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I have a special bond with every single one of them, and it’s so hard. You can’t pick one because you truly just don’t know. I’m just rooting for all of them.”
BORING! This is why you were voted off, Pia! Stop being politically correct and just give us a straight answer. Everyone is not “wonderful.” Everyone is not “so great.” Boring, boring, boring.
Anyway, she said we can expect an album from her after the ‘Idol’ tour ends…one with–take a guess–power ballads with an R & B influence. I can hardly contain my excitement.
