The Duggar family has done plenty of things that have made us scratch our heads over the years. (‘Member when the Duggar girls gave dating advice in their book, even though none of them had ever actually dated?) They are always there to provide plenty of awkward moments as well, but this clip probably takes the prize for most awkward moment ever caught on film!

In a clip of an upcoming episode of the family’s reality show 19 Kids and Counting, we watch as Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have a talk with daughter Jessa and her fiancé, Ben Seewald. As the show’s fans know, Jessa and Ben (like the rest of the Duggar kids) do not believe in kissing before marriage. In the clip, which was filmed before Jessa and Ben got hitched in November,  Jessa’s parents decide to teach the kids how to kiss to prepare them for their wedding day.

First, Jim Bob explains that guys care more about the physical side of a relationship, while girls mostly care about communication, all while Michelle stares lovingly at him. Then he gets down to business.

“Let me show y’all the best way to kiss her,” Jim Bob tells Ben. “If you kiss straight-on, your noses hit together.”

Of course, Jim Bob demonstrates this by kissing Michelle, causing Ben to giggle like a schoolgirl.

WTF are we watching…seriously?!

Jim Bob and Michelle then show the kids where to place their faces to land that perfect kiss.

“Y’all are so cute!” Jessa tells her parents after the kissing lesson.

Later, Ben explains why he and Jessa refused to touch lips before becoming husband and wife.

“We think that it could lead to some stuff that we’re really trying to avoid before our wedding so we just think it’s wise for us to hold off until our wedding day,” he tells the camera.

Please, guys, also try to hold off on the awkward kissing how-to’s, for our sakes. Thanks.
