Their love story is still playing out on the current season of Bachelor in Paradise but it looks like Taylor Nolan and Derek Peth got a happy ending…well, at least for now, anyway.

E! News has confirmed that the ‘BIP’ Season 4 lovebirds got engaged while filming the ‘Paradise’ After Show special on Wednesday.

(Just a note, The Ashley does not generally write spoilers; however, this news has already circulated all over the mainstream media, so she decided to include it on The Roundup.)

The show’s host Chris Harrison had previously told fans that there would be no proposals happening this season, due to the time crunch the Corinne/DeMario scandal and shutdown caused. However, he hinted that a live proposal may happen, which is exactly how things played out for Taylor and Derek.

The site reports that Derek proposed to Taylor at the taping with a Neil Lane ring (naturally.) The three-carat sparkler is reportedly valued at $60,000.

Details of the proposal are scarce (for now).

“Derek and Taylor got engaged last night. No one knew Derek was going to propose,” a source told Us Weekly.

Riiiiiiight. Sorry, but even Stevie Wonder could have seen that one coming…

Anyway, Taylor and Derek have been Season 4’s most solid couple. They began dating almost immediately after ‘BIP’ began, and even dated while the show was on hiatus.

Many couples from ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ have ended up getting engaged at the end of their seasons, but most of them don’t make it down the aisle. Only two couples from the show have actually gotten married–Jade Roper and Tanner Tolbert of Season 2, and Carly Waddell and Evan Bass of Season 3. (Lacy Faddoul and Marcus Grodd did have a wedding in Mexico after Season 1, but they were never legally married, and the couple eventually split.)

Taylor and Derek have yet to confirm or deny the engagement news.
