Crickey! The Irwin family is coming back to Animal Planet!
Twelve years after the death of The Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin, his wife and kids are returning to the network in a new reality series. Earlier this month, Steve’s wife Terri and kids Bindi and Robert announced that they will soon be starring in Crickey! It’s the Irwins.
Since Steve’s tragic death in 2006 (which came after he was pierced in the heart by a stingray’s barb while filming a documentary), the Irwins have continued to carry on his legacy of showing the world the beautiful and dangerous wild animal kingdom.
Steve’s daughter Bindi, now 20, posted about her family’s new show on Instagram.
“I am so happy to announce that our brand-new Animal Planet series will premiere on October 28,” she wrote. “We can’t wait to share our story with you as we continue Dad’s important work. This feels like a beautiful new life chapter. I hope to see you there.”

Robert, 14, shared the exciting news on his Instagram as well. Earlier this month, he posted a photo of the show’s cast and crew.
“That’s a wrap! Crikey, what a crew!” he wrote. “A huge thank you to each and every member of the film crew and Australia Zoo team for your hard work, and passion for this amazing show. I have had a truly wonderful time being part of this, I am so proud of you all, and I cannot wait for ‘Crikey! It’s The Irwins’ to premiere October 28 on @animalplanet.”

Bindi’s boyfriend, Chandler Powell, will also be featured on the ‘Crickey! It’s the Irwins,’ which will show the family as they live and work at the Australia Zoo.
People obtained an exclusive first clip of ‘Crickey! It’s the Irwins’ in which Robert can be heard talking about how wonderful it is to grow up in the zoo.
“It’s an amazing place to live,” he says. “Our alarm clock in the morning is the tigers roaring.”
While Bindi, Terri and Robert have all been featured on reality shows since Steve’s death, this will mark the first time they open up their home life to viewers.
“We work together, we live together. I love our animals and I love living here,” Terri told People. “We are excited to share our work at Australia Zoo and our conservation adventures with the Animal Planet audiences all around the world.”
Fans couldn’t wait to let Bindi and Robert know how excited they are for the new show.
“I don’t watch TV but I am going to have to make time for a few adventures with our favorite Aussie family,” one fan wrote to Bindi on Twitter.
“This is everything I need, thank you for continuing your father’s legacy so well Bindi, he would be extremely proud of you all,” another fan wrote.
Fans even commented on how much Robert has grown to resemble Steve.
“Robert looks and sounds so much like his dad! I am so happy to see you all back! I grew up with you guys and I am so ready for this,” a fan wrote.

I can’t wait for this show, I don’t have cable but I hope it will be on hulu or online too. I loved Steve Irwin and his family is wonderful. I follow them all on Instagram and really enjoy their posts and the work that they are doing.
I looove Robert! He is so much like his dad, and just a wonderful young man.
Seems like yesterday when Teri, in labor, gave Steve Irwin that look between contractions and puffing “You think you could have brought more people in here?!!” He took the whole camera crew into her hospital room and basically kept presenting the show, talking about her being in labor like he would when they would film a tiger or croc. He got the hint and stepped into his role as her husband and father to be, smart man he was ;-).
His son speaks and moves exactly like he did, same enthusiasm and mimics even. I saw him on a TV show the other day.
I remember that, too! Can’t wait to see the new show.
so sad qhen he passed! glad to see the kids grown and happy. good luck to them and the show and we all miss their dad! I will tune in
I was just watching The Crocodile Hunter last night with my daughter!! Imma go cry, this is amazing.
Those kids are so smart and polite! Their father would be proud. Hats off to their mother!
