There are even more 90 Day Fiance babies on the way!
Earlier this week, two different couples from the TLC franchise— Paul Staehle and Karine Martins of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days; and Elizabeth Potthast and Andrei Castravet of 90 Day Fiance Season 5— announced that they’re expecting!
Paul and Karine announced their pregnancy during Sunday night’s season finale tell-all episode.
“I’m super happy,” Karine told the host via Skype. “But at the same time, I’m scared it won’t work out again.”
This is Karine’s third pregnancy, as she has had two miscarriages. She is reportedly about four months along in the pregnancy and expecting a baby boy.
“The baby is a surprise blessing,” Paul told Cosmopolitan. “We were very nervous, but we are in the second trimester with this current pregnancy.”
Right now, Paul is traveling back and forth from the U.S. to Karine’s native Brazil but soon his 22-year-old wife may be joining him in the States.
“She wants to test out medical facilities and medicine in the U.S. to see which she prefers and which will be best for our child,” he said. “Then she will decide which country is best.”
As ‘Before the 90 Days’ fans know, Paul and Karine had a season full of drama. They dealt with cheating scandals and potential divorce, and, in the beginning of their relationship, the couple didn’t even speak the same language and communicated through a translation app.
Joining Paul and Karine in the “90 Day Fiance” Maternity Ward will be Elizabeth and Andrei, who starred on the fifth season of the show. News of Elizabeth and Andrei’s pregnancy broke earlier this month (when Elizabeth’s brother-in-law “accidentally” let the news slip out on his radio show). However, the couple didn’t confirm the baby news until this week.
Elizabeth, 28, told Cosmopolitan that she found out she was pregnant in May, just after they stopped filming.
“I was like, ‘no way,’” Andrei, 32, said. “It was a total surprise. We didn’t plan it.”
The couple is expecting a baby girl.
Elizabeth was nervous to tell her dad because he has expressed concerns about her relationship with Andrei. (He doesn’t like Andrei’s macho attitude.) Elizabeth said her relationship with her dad isn’t that great right now.
“Lately it has not been so good. We have some disagreements. But we have some good times as well,” she said, adding that her father is excited about his grandchild.
Elizabeth told the magazine that she and Andrei plan to stay in Tampa, Florida, until their daughter is born. However, they want to travel to Andrei’s home country, Moldova, frequently to make sure the child stays connected to her dad’s culture.
Elizabeth was mad when her brother-in-law (whom she says she “never talks to”) announced her pregnancy on his radio show.
“I was extremely, extremely, upset and I still am,” Elizabeth said. “We’ve done such a good job of keeping it hidden. We literally never talk to him, and we feel he probably saw an opportunity to get some ratings on his show. We never said he could say anything.”
Several other couples from the “90 Day Fiance” franchise are also expecting babies soon. Season 1’s Mike and Aziza Eloshway will welcome their first child in 2019, as will Russ and Paola Mayfield, who recently starred on 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After
