Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo— who met and got engaged on Rachel’s season of The Bachelorette in 2017— have officially tied the knot!
The couple got hitched on Saturday at the Royalton Suites Cancún in Mexico. While several of Rachel and Bryan’s Bachelor Nation friends were invited to the festivities, reality TV cameras were not.
“[Initially] I wanted a TV wedding. I 100 percent did,” Lindsay told People magazine earlier this month. “Then, as we got to know each other in the real world and things became normalized, and then I started hearing horror stories about these TV weddings, I am very thankful that we don’t have one and that we’re doing it on our own. I also think that it shows to the world or Bachelor Nation that what we have is more real.”
“We don’t need TV. We don’t need to get paid. We’re doing this because this is what we want to do. And I think it has more meaning,” she added.
According to People, Rachel wore a short-sleeved bridal gown by Randi Rahm with a tulle veil, which Bryan donned a white tux with black trim for the occasion. In addition to ‘Bachelor’ alums Astrid Loche, Kristina Schulman, Eric Bigger, Kevin Wendt, Alex Bordy and Bibiana Julian, the guest list included many of Rachel and Bryan’s family.
“It’s island vibe and that’s how I want it to be,” Rachel told Us Weekly earlier this month. “We’re bringing bride’s family from Columbia, from Miami, my family from Texas and all over. And so we’re all coming together.”
While only a few men who were ‘The Bachelor’ have married the woman they chose on the show, the women of ‘The Bachelorette’ have had good luck finding lasting love on the show. Rachel is the fourth ‘Bachelorette’ to marry the man who proposed on the show. (The other three are Season 1’s Trista Sutter, Season 7’s Ashley Hebert and Season 9’s Desiree Hartsock.) Two other former ‘Bachelorettes’— JoJo Fletcher and Becca Kufrin— are still currently engaged to the men they picked.
