The distance between the Gosselin family just got a little greater.
After recently selling her Pennsylvania home, Kate Gosselin has reportedly relocated to North Carolina, along with four of the eight children she shares with ex-husband Jon Gosselin.
Jon and Kate’s 20-year-old twin daughters Mady and Cara, who are currently away at college, did not make the move to North Carolina with their mom and siblings, nor did Collin and Hannah, the two sextuplets of whom Jon maintains custody.
“Kate picked up and moved the kids down to North Carolina to spend their junior and senior years there with a totally new life,” a source told Hollywood Life. “The two girls are in no rush to go to North Carolina. They weren’t happy about the move because they have no friends there.”
Kate listed the $1.2 million home – previously seen on Jon & Kate Plus 8 – back in October for $815,000. At the time, Jon said Collin and Hannah were “a little upset” that they were not given the opportunity to do a walkthrough of their childhood home before it went on the market.
Though the house has since been sold to new owners, Jon revealed to Dr. Oz earlier this month that Collin “works next door” to the home, sees it everyday and “didn’t really express anything” after the house was purchased by the new owners.
During the same interview, Jon talked about the strained relationship he has with his kids (besides Collin and Hannah), claiming “there’s just a disconnect.”
“ … Whether it’s parent alienation or you know, I can’t really reach out to them and there’s legalities,” he said. “I can’t like go to where they move, you know? It’d be trespassing and those kinds of things, so I mean, I guess my plight to them or what I want to say is I love you, my door is always open, you’re welcome anytime. There’s no regrets or hard feelings or any of those negative things … you can always come see me or come see Hannah and Collin.”
According to Jon, Hannah hasn’t seen Kate in a year or two, while Collin hasn’t seen Kate “in years.”

Kind of crappy to move out of state in the kids last year or two of high school but not surprising. Everything she does is self serving. Loved their old house though.
She’s looking at college tuition for the six as soon as the twins have graduated. In state tuition in NC, anyone? Or she’s got a man there.
Nooo! Not living in my state please! We don’t need crazy Kate and her bratty kids here
LOL! I was thinking exactly that. I wonder where in North Carolina they are living.
They moved to Troutman, NC. The house, that Kate bought in 2018, is on Lake Norman, but it’s a lot smaller than the one in PA and has only 4 bedrooms.
It’s bad enough some of these kids don’t have a relationship with one of their parents but the fact that some of them don’t have a relationship with their own siblings, that’s even sadder.
We’ll get the whole story some day.
The cost of living is lower in North Carolina versus Pennsylvania. It makes sense financially. Also she probably moved to ensure her last 4 kids living with her (and herself) would be nowhere near John. That has been her mantra since the divorce.
For whatever the reason, a father and mother are not actively seeking out their kids. If it is by law you cannot see them, I understand. If by choice and you are mad or upset with the kids you don’t see for silly reasons that can be fixed, shame on them. Those are your kids.
All years to a kid growing up is important to who they will become. They already had a hard time most likely because they grew up on tv. Their parents crap was plastered online and in magazines. Now you can’t try to make ammends with your ex because you are throwing a fit? You have 8 kids!!! This is serious and at least one of these parents are acting like a complete a hole still trying to be relevant and be a celebrity. Kids can only do so much, it is the parents who need to step up and grow up.
The sextuplets were born in 2004. How does that make them 15. Unless I’m missing something.
The attached Instagram posts are from 2019 not recently.
Duh!!!! I should’ve figured that
Yup! Downsizing and looking at colleges! Here in NC, we have some of the best colleges…Public, Private, HBCUs. In-state tuition is a lot cheaper than out-of-state.
