As Lala Kent continues her “soft” era, Scheana Shay appears to be kicking off her era of damage control.
In the wake of last week’s Vanderpump Rules Season 11 finale, the “Good As Gold” singer is attempting to set the record straight on what happened before viewers saw some of the cast break the fourth wall as cameras were rolling.
For those who didn’t catch last week’s finale, the episode ended with Tom Sandoval trying (once again) to have a conversation with his ex-girlfriend Ariana Madix on-camera, and Ariana sternly telling executive producer Jeremiah Smith that said-conversation wasn’t going to happen.
Annoyed by yet another Sandoval ambush, Ariana went on to leave the party the cast was attending in San Francisco, along with two of her friends and her boyfriend Daniel Wai. After Ariana left, Sandoval and Scheana proceeded to throw some shade at Ariana for her behavior, but their comments were largely overshadowed by Lala’s long-winded monologue on Ariana’s unwillingness to speak with Sandoval on-camera, claiming Ariana basically wasn’t doing her job.
In the wake of the finale, both Lala and Scheana have received a lot of backlash from viewers of the show regarding the comments that were made; however, on the May 10 episode of her Scheananigans podcast, Scheana told listeners that those who participated in breaking the fourth wall were simply doing what they were told.
“[Our producer] Jeremiah said, ‘Let it all out. Whatever you wanna say. Go for it,’” Scheana told her podcast guests, comedian Matt Rogers and Janet Caperna of The Valley, according to TooFab.
When asked by Matt if she believed Jeremiah encouraged the cast to break the fourth wall because he was “frustrated” with Ariana during filming, Scheana claimed the executive producer “was very frustrated that day.”
“To get walked out on, it was, it was a slap in the face to everyone,” Scheana said, before going on to flip flop, as she always does admit that she now sees the other side of things.
“In hindsight, watching it back, I’m like, ‘I understand. That was your truth. In that moment, you were living your real, authentic life and you’re not really going to talk to him,’” Scheana said of Ariana’s decision to not interact with Sandoval.
While Scheana claims to understand why Ariana left the party, she said it still felt like a betrayal to the rest of the cast at the time.
“For the rest of us, it felt like in that moment, like, ‘F**k all of your jobs, f**k making the end of this show. I’m gonna do what I wanna do because I set my boundary. Peace out,’” she explained, adding that she was also bothered when Sandoval revealed that Ariana “talks s**t” about the rest of the cast. “ … It was just like, ‘What the f**k?’”
Scheana admitted that “people can get in [her] head very easily,” seemingly defending her strong reaction to Sandoval’s claims in that moment.
“To hear that about someone who I’ve cared about for so long, like, ‘Maybe she doesn’t feel that way about me,’” Scheana said of her friendship with Ariana, to which Janet went on to reassure Scheana that Ariana loves her and “talks the least s**t” out of everyone in the group.
As The Ashley previously told you, production on Season 12 of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ has been paused to reportedly give the cast a “break,” and hopefully, result in better storylines for the upcoming season. Now that the fourth wall has been broken, Scheana said the show may even work better moving forward, as Ariana can acknowledge on-camera that she will not be filming with Sandoval–- something she wasn’t able to do openly in Season 11.
“But the way this last season worked, it was, ‘This is an ensemble show about a group of friends. So if y’all aren’t filming together then there is no show. We’ll wrap it up, the season will end early and move on with your lives, ‘Vanderpump Rules is done,’” she claimed. “None of us were willing to do that.”
Despite riding hard for Sandoval on more than one occasion in Season 11, Scheana also revealed on her podcast that, as of right now, she doesn’t speak to Sandoval or Ariana “that much.”
Part 1 of the 3-part ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Season 11 reunion airs Tuesday on Bravo.

ARIANA WAS FILMING WITH TOM ALL OF SEASON 11. SHE JUST REFUSED TO HAVE THAT CONVERSATION WITH HIM ON CAMERA. IF TOM HAD ANY KIND OF COMPASSION, OR LOVE FOR ARIANA AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP EVER, HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SINCERE OFF CAMERA AND REALLY JUST SAY HE WAS SORRY. IF HE REALLY EVER WAS SORRY…
HIS ACTION ALWAYS REVERT TO BLAMING, PUTTING DOWN OR DEVULGING THINGS THAT WERE SAID BETWEEN PARTNERS IN STRICT CONFIDENCE. AS COUPLES AM SURE AT SOME POINT THEY ALL HAVE SAID THINGS ABOUT THEIR CASTMATES BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. TOM JUST DOESN’T HAVE THE CAPACITY TO KNOW WHEN TO SHUT HIS MOUTH. HE WILL SAY OR DO ANYTHING TO WIN CASTMATES OVER. WHEN HE SAW A GLIMPS OF THEM TAKING HIS SIDE HE JUMPED AT THE OPPORTUNITY TO TARNISH ARIANA’S CHARACTER. HE IS A HORRIBLE MAN. LALA AND SCHEANA REALLY!!!! LALA NEVERED LIKED TOM, SCHEANA WAS ARIANA’S RIDE OR DIE? FOR 2 HOT SECONDS. THEY GOT JEALOUS OF THEIR FRIEND AND INSTEAD OF TRULY BEING HAPPY FOR HER THEY BECAME ENVIOUS. ARIANA DID NOTHING TO TOM, SHE LOVED HIM. IF TOM WASN’T IN LOVE ANYMORE HE SHOULD HAVE JUST ENDED IT. JUST WONDERING IF THE TABLES WERE TURNED AND BROCK HAD A 7 MONTH AFFAIR WITH LALA, WOULD SCHEANA BE SO FORGIVING??? WOULD YOU EXPECT YOUR BEST FRIEND TO STICK BY YOUR SIDE? WOULD YOU REALLY WANT TO STILL BE FRIENDS WITH THAT PERSON WHO DID SOMETHING LIKE THAT TO YOUR BEST FRIEND. YOU DON’T HAVE TO HATE PERSON BUT WHY WOULD YOU STILL WANT THAT TOXIC PERSON I YOUR LIFE?
Scheana is a thirty-something-year-old woman with a child who acts like she’s still in high school. When filming their confessionals, Lala and Scheana only showed their jealousy of all the things that Ariana got to experience this whole season. More so Lala because she got cheated on too but no one was very sympathetic to her since we all know how her situation with the creepy director started. Ariana has every right to put her foot down because she is being authentic in not wanting to film with Sandoval. How anyone who watched this season has felt remorse for that scum is beyond me.
Ariana is using Tom Sandoval’s infidelity as a fame vehicle. It’s turned into a big, fat, nauseating ego trip for her now that viewers have thrown her a great big pity party. Lala is right. Ariana thinks she’s Beyonce now. Ariana’s current brattiness is repulsive. She turns my stomach.
This show seems like more of scripted soap opera than a reality show. I’m not buying it.
So breaking the 4th wall to Scheana was sticking her head directly up Lala’s ass and becoming Lala’s yes girl and being passive aggressive in confessionals about her “best” friend that she supposedly loves so much. Scheana has always been a follower. The only thing breaking the 4th wall did was open my eyes even more to how I can’t stand 98% of the cast with Sandoval, Lala & Scheana being at the top of the list.
