Kathryn Dennis reportedly received a fashionable new accessory on Monday night: handcuffs.
The former Southern Charm star was allegedly arrested in Goose Creek, South Carolina, and charged with driving under the influence (DUI). According to TMZ— which broke the news on Tuesday– Kathryn was also involved in a three-car crash before her arrest.
In addition to DUI, Kat received a charge of driving with an open container.
In the police incident report— which was obtained by TMZ— an officer at the scene described Kathryn as allegedly having “glossy eyes and an odor of alcohol coming from her person.” The officer also stated that she appeared impaired.
Kathryn– who was fired from ‘Southern Charm’ in 2023– has yet to comment publicly about the alleged incident. (Surprisingly, her often-outspoken baby daddy, Thomas Ravenel, has also stayed quiet…so far.)
While this is Kat’s first DUI arrest, it is not the first time she’s been involved in driving drama. Last October, a car registered to the former ‘Southern Charm’ star was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run incident that injured Berkeley County Sheriff’s Deputy Michelle Ward.
Deputy Ward, who also acts as a school resource officer, was directing traffic in front of a Moncks Corner, South Carolina, elementary school when she was reportedly hit by an SUV. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries to her hand and foot. Kathryn denied having any role in the incident.
Kathryn’s claims of having no involvement in the hit-and-run were revealed in emails exchanged between investigators and high-ranking South Carolina Highway Patrol officials following the October 20 incident.
Within the email exchange, Lt. Chadwick A. Pearson stated that, after officers were able to track Kathryn down at her home, she was questioned about the incident and went on to show the officers her vehicle– a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport– which matched the description and tag number that was given to law enforcement, as well as the vehicle seen on the school video. (Deputy Ward was able to get a partial license plate of the vehicle, while a witness reportedly “chased down the Bronco and got the full tag” number.)
“Ms. Dennis claimed neither her nor her vehicle had left the property all day,” the email stated. “There appeared to be fresh damage on the passenger’s side mirror consistent with striking the stop sign that was in the Deputy’s hand.
“Ms. Dennis stated her vehicle did have damage on it but all damage was from old events,” the email continued.
Kathryn was never arrested or charged for the alleged incident from October.
While Kat is no longer on ‘Southern Charm,’ she has remained in the news due to her (alleged) driving escapades and her co-parenting relationship with Thomas, with whom she shares son Saint and daughter Kenzie. As The Ashley previously reported, Thomas was awarded permanent sole custody of the two kids, following a long and nasty custody battle between him and Kathryn.
On Mother’s Day, Kathryn posted on Instagram Stories about “parental alienation,” prompting Thomas to speak out about his baby mama and her lack of involvement with their kids.

“Typical [Kathryn] who had every opportunity and legal right to see her kids on Mother’s Day but didn’t and then chose to blame it on me,” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “This is her IG story. Her delusions and deceits and lies to her own kids never cease to shock me.”
In November, Thomas took to X to call Kathryn out for her “horrific behavior”, while also criticizing some of their ‘Southern Charm’ co-stars for supporting her.
“The worst person in the world I know is Kathryn Dennis and the total losers who make excuses and applaud her horrific behavior like Craig [Conover], Shep [Rose] and Austen [Kroll],” Thomas wrote. “Total losers.”

Those poor kids not great role models or stability for them from birth and I just read where it was confirmed that Saint has fetal alcohol syndrome- that’s a pretty serious and sad developmental delay/ disorder and a direct result of an irresponsible and selfish mother.
I don’t know if I would classifier her as worst person in the world, but she has been given chance after a chance after chance… when is she going to accept some accountability and be held liable for these events? Especially before she hurts somebody …mainly her children and people on the road.
Things never change with her. She wants to whine and cry about not having custody of her kids and then proceeds to prove that the courts were right by getting repeatedly arrested and failing nearly every drug test she’s ordered to take.
