Trigger Warning: This post contains mentions of suicide.
Garrison Brown’s memory continues to live on through his family, including his siblings, many of whom have gotten tattoos in honor of the 25-year-old, who died earlier this year.
As The Ashley previously told you, Garrison– who is the son of Janelle and Kody Brown– took his own life March 5 at his home in Flagstaff, Arizona. Garrison’s death was discovered by his brother Gabe Brown, who was sent by Janelle to check on Garrison after Garrison reportedly sent a series of alarming text messages to her and members of the Sister Wives crew the previous night.
Janelle recently shared some photos to Instagram of a night out with Gabe and youngest daughter Savanah Brown, in which fans in the comment section took notice of a tattoo on Gabe’s arm that appeared to read, “to the stars.” When asked if the ink was a tribute to Garrison, Janelle confirmed that it was.
“Yes! Many of the kids got a tattoo with some version of that quote,” Janelle replied. “It was one of Garrison’s favorite movies growing up and even as an adult 😀.”
According to Today, the mom-of-six was referring to the movie Dragonheart, in which the aforementioned quote is featured.
Another person mentioned on Janelle’s post that they had spotted a similar-themed tattoo in a recent photo of Paedon Brown– son of Kody and Christine Brown– though instead of a quote, Paedon appears to have gotten a constellation tattoo on his forearm.
The sibling tattoos are just one of the many ways the Brown family has continued to remember Garrison in the wake of his passing. Last month on Mother’s Day, Janelle shared with fans that she had baked a strawberry rhubarb pie, claiming “no one loved it more than Garrison.”
“ …and that made this pie a little bitter sweet,” she continued. “I love you honey and miss you every day.”
Christine has also used baking and cooking as a way to honor Garrison, telling fans back in March that she had whipped up Garrison’s favorite breakfast and tinted it green in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
“We’re always going to remember and honor Garrison, no matter what life throws at us daily,” she shared on Instagram. “It’s such a difficult balance embracing life and daily routines like celebrating holidays and working while grieving. So, hey, I made his favorite for St. Patrick’s Day!”
Janelle previously told fans that the Brown siblings had also stepped up to care for Garrison’s cats after the animal lover’s passing, with two of the cats being re-homed with Logan Brown (Janelle and Kody’s son) and his wife, Michelle, and another cat going to live with Aspyn Brown (Christine and Kody’s daughter) and her husband, Mitch Thompson.
“Garrison’s cats, Catthew and Patches are thriving at Logan and Michelle’s place and Ms. Boots is living her best life with Aspyn and Mitch,” Janelle shared in April. “It was awesome that we could continue to take care of them like he would.”
