Olivia Flowers Reveals That She Was Actually Fired From “Southern Charm”; Tells Scheana Shay, “It Wasn’t My Choice” To Leave Show

“If you know anyone hiring for a D-level reality show, let me know!”

Olivia Flowers is letting the world know she didn’t want to leave Southern Charm.

On Friday’s episode of the Scheananigans podcast, Austen Kroll’s ex revealed that producers called to let her know she wouldn’t be coming back for the show’s 10th season, blaming the amount of time Olivia had been spending away from Charleston for the decision.

“I got the call a few weeks before filming from the production company and it was just asking questions like, ‘You don’t really seem to be in Charleston that much, we’re noticing on your Instagram you’re traveling, you’re in Texas, you’ve got this new boyfriend, and it just seems like you’ve chosen a different path,’” Olivia told podcast host Scheana Shay.

Olivia admitted that she had been spending a lot of time in Texas because her parents moved there and that’s where her boyfriend Alex Williams lives, but didn’t think that would negatively impact her position on ‘Southern Charm.’

“Charleston wasn’t the happiest place for me at the time, my friend group had completely changed after filming. My house, you know, it brought back some difficult memories. My parents were in Texas, so of course I wanted to take that beat, especially after filming you just want to take a break, and that’s really all that was,” she said. “Had I known it was working against me or it was coming across a certain way, I definitely wish there had been more open communication leading up to it so I could have explained.”

After all the drama of her first two seasons with former flame Austen and former friend Taylor Ann Green, Olivia was looking forward to a less-stressful third season on ‘Southern Charm’ and the opportunity to show viewers who she really is. Without the show, she’s exploring other options, including launching a web series.

She’s also open to returning to ‘Southern Charm’ one day.

“I don’t get to tell my story on the ‘Charm’ this go-around, but it’s opened doors to be able to do that in other platforms and, like, get to come and do this, and I would love to be able to kind of create something similar myself,” she said. “I really hate to be looked at as the ex-girlfriend, or the girl that couldn’t get over a drunken kiss, and it’s just all so much of, like, who I am came down to edits and so, in that sense, I guess [I’m] relieved [to not return], but overall [I’m] bummed, and, hopefully, the door’s not closed for good.”

Since her departure, Olivia’s been creating content for her soon-to-launch web series Off Season, which will bring viewers into the former Charm-er’s life and feature appearances from a variety of Bravolebrities.

“I had this idea of wanting to do a web series and showing BTS of doing things like this [interview], she said. “I had a conversation with Kathryn [Dennis] that’s going to be on it, and filming with Ally [Lewber], so I’m still getting to dabble in the filming of things but in my own little world. It’s just fun. I know podcasts do great, but I just wanted to bring the visual aesthetics, so it’s just a fun project, I’m just trying it and see how it goes.”

“We may have been fired but we’re not going anywhere!”

In addition to providing content for her web series, Olivia’s conversation with long-time friend Kathryn gave her some insight into how difficult the transition can be back to real life after being on reality TV. (As The Ashley previously reported, Kathryn was fired from ‘Southern Charm’ in January 2023 after appearing on eight seasons of the show.)

According to Olivia, Kathryn seems to be in a better place following her DUI arrest in May.

“She was just opening up about how that was mentally for her, and then to feel like you’re so important, so wanted and everyone’s interested in you, to suddenly you’re not wanted anymore…” Olivia said. “She was like, ‘That did something to my mental [health] and I had to take time for myself,’ and she really seems like she’d done that and she just has this energy I’ve never seen her have before of just wanting to keep that momentum going and get back out there and revamp her Instagram.

“I was helping her with content, so I just hope she finds her way back into, like, doing things like this because she’s so funny, she’s so smart, she’s so creative, and I just think that got kind of suppressed after being off the show and having to take that time to find herself.”

Why can’t any of these EXcelebrities get an actual REAL JOB?

    1. Seriously. Why can’t they have actual jobs? Was working 2 hours a day, twice a week too taxing? Lazy b’s.

    2. I wouldn’t if I were them, either. Little hustle, lotta money, no work? Sign me tf up. Come film my dirty ass life, I got drama and trauma and daily bullshit. I’d rather have a camera in my face and a huge check than deal with my middle class crap juggling bills.
