Jax Taylor is getting some help with his mental health.
TMZ reported on Tuesday that the star of The Valley is heading to an inpatient treatment center to work through some struggles he’s been having with his mental health since splitting with his wife, Brittany Cartwright earlier this year.
“Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast,” a rep for the former Vanderpump Rules star told the site.
“He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”
In the days leading up to the announcement, Jax had hinted on social media that he was looking for some help. Earlier this week, he posted a Buddhism quote to Instagram.
“Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help, and brave enough to ask for it.”
On Monday, Jax posted a picture to Instagram Stories showing two books: Get Out of Your Mind & Into Your Life and Set Boundaries, Find Peace. He captioned the photo “Healing.”
Jax– who was recently photographed arguing with Danny Booko while filming for ‘The Valley’ Season 2–has stated on his and Brittany’s When Reality Hits podcast that he has been working on his temper and anger issues. During an episode of the podcast last month, Jax stated that he met a doctor at his Studio City, California, bar, who has been helping him.
“She’s absolutely amazing,” Jax said of the doctor. “And I went in there and I literally just broke down. I’m like, ‘This is what’s wrong with me and this is what I’m doing, and this is who l’m attacking, and I have serious, serious anger issues, and I have a child and I don’t want him to see me act like that.’”
As The Ashley previously reported, Jax and Brittany have been living apart since at least February. However, as of press time, neither party has officially filed for divorce.
In March, Brittany stated that she wants Jax to work on himself before she considers reconciling with him.
“Listen, I love Jax so much, I really do,” she said at the time. “I just want the best for me and for my son, at this point, so that’s, like, my main focus. But, for sure, if he switches some things and changes some things about his life, then maybe we can get back together, but right now, I just don’t know.”
Brittany has yet to publicly comment on Jax’s decision to seek mental health treatment.

I don’t know why we are criticizing someone who is trying to get help . This makes people not want to get help . People can change if they work hard. I’m not a Jax fan but good for him.
Storyline move. Nothing to see here.
That is all.
@bruja ~ that seems to be the consensus. storyline, or he effed up in some way while filming 🎥 the valley and is doing this preemptively to avoid backlash.
it’s (allegedly) been snowing ❄️❄️ (ahem) in his area for YEARS; why would he bother stopping now?
oops, i forgot this stay is (supposedly) for mental health issues ~ not *cough* other reasons *cough*. ❄️❄️
I doubt they can impart any integrity into him and nothing short of that would do. He’s a true POS right to the core.
Nobody can do anything without God’s help.
He can turn a nothing into something…JUST LIKE THAT.
Hope thst happens for you sooner rather than later DLC
He’d be better off going to a lying arsehole rehabilitation centre. Though I feel he’s already a terminal case.
Good for you Jax…way to realize you need help and make the first move!!!
Just got better and prove the haters wrong!!!
