‘Sister Wives’ Star Meri Brown Addresses Rumor of Possible Reconciliation With Ex-Husband Kody Brown; Reveals Where Her Relationship with Robyn Brown Stands

“That sounds like a threat, Meri.”

Sister Wives star Meri Brown isn’t planning to patch things up with her ex-husband Kody Brown anytime soon– or at all.

On this week’s conclusion of Meri’s 3-part interview on The Sarah Fraser Show, the ‘Sister Wives’ star shut down the rumor that she’s planning to reconcile with Kody, whom she officially split from in 2023.

“Oh my gosh, I see that [rumor] all the time and I’m like, really?” Meri said. “No, I promise that one’s never gonna happen.”

Meri further proved that she won’t be rekindling anything romantic with Kody by singing a line from Taylor Swift’s song, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

“Sing it, sister wife!”

As fans of the show know, Meri and Kody “permanently terminated” what was left of their marriage in January 2023 after more than 33 years together. The couple’s split came just a month after Janelle Brown confirmed that she and Kody had separated, and more than a year after Christine Brown parted ways with the permed-hair polygamist. Christine, Janelle and Meri’s departures left Robyn Brown as Kody’s only remaining wife.

When you’re trying to figure out how you ‘won’…but still got stuck being married to a grumpy man in a visor…

On the podcast, Meri also spoke about Season 18 of ‘Sister Wives,’ specifically Kody and Robyn’s actions throughout the season and how the couple was heavily criticized by fans of the show, acknowledging that she’s faced similar criticism from viewers throughout the series.

“I’ve been the villain on our show before,” she said, before agreeing with the podcast host that Kody and Robyn deserved some credit for playing that part in recent seasons. “I mean, you’re right. Everybody loves a good villain.”

“So what you’re saying is everybody loves me…?”

As fans of the show may remember, one of the standout moments of Season 18 occurred when Meri, Kody and Robyn sat down for a conversation on Coyote Pass that ended with Meri and Kody finally deciding to end what was left of their relationship. While the scene was arguably one of the most awkward of the season–- if not the entire series–- Meri said she was “very pleased” with how the conversation played out.

“Honestly, I went there with a plan and there were things that I wanted to bring up that I wanted to be talked about and they were [talked about],” she said, admitting that she felt that way, despite Kody contributing “some really silly things” to the conversation. “I’m like, really? Really?

Meri added that she was accepting of the breakup largely because of where her and Kody’s relationship was at the time.

What Meri should’ve done at least 10 years earlier…

“Up until fairly recently, prior to that [conversation]–- within that year–- I was in a place of like, he hadn’t spoken to me so definitively,” she said. “I’d heard tangents, and I’d heard temper tantrums and stuff like that, but he and I never had that up until that year. We hadn’t had those definite conversations. Like, he was not saying those things to me. Sure, I was seeing it on the show, I watched the show … .”

In response to viewers who question why she stayed with Kody for as long as she did, Meri said she was aware of how Kody felt about her; however, she claims Kody was also “saying different things” to her at one point. Still, she insists she’s “not stupid.”

“You might think that I am, but I’m not,” she said. “You know, I see the things that are being said. But also, I deserve to have those things said to me. So I kind of made that happen.”

Regarding the comments Robyn made on the show about wanting her to stay, Meri seemed to have mixed feelings on whether or not those sentiments were sincere.

Robyn, clinging hard to both her friendship with Meri and her porch dreams in Season 18…

“I don’t know, I feel like I think that she did want me to stay,” she said. “I feel that she was sad, I feel that she had this idea when she came into the family of this big plural family, I really think that. But then things were not matching up either. And I got that from Kody, too.

“It’s like … there was a lot of confusion,” she continued. “Let’s just say there was a lot of confusion.”

Something that’s certainly less confusing is the current state of Meri’s relationship with both Kody and Robyn, whom she said she has seen on occasion and “texted a little bit.”

“I’m in this place where I’m moving forward with my life,” she said. “There’s aspects of my life that they still need to be involved in, but my day-to-day is my best friend and my day-to-day is my people that are helping me to move forward.

“I don’t want to interact with people that are not helping me to move forward,” she added.

  1. She pathetically begged him to be with her. She defended him. She proclaimed her undying love, no matter what. If he treated her like shit, she wasn’t going to leave. Wasted so much time so much life. Very sad.

  2. I certainly would not want Robyn for a friend. She begged Meri to stay even though Kody made it clear he wanted her gone. I really think Robyn enjoyed the pain Meri went through. My god, she would not even have her come into her house when Meri came to visit. Robyn played the game and she won Kody. What a hell of a prize. Yeah Robyn had dreams of her sister wives joining her on the porch in their old age…and getting off on Kody screaming at them while she shed her crocodile tears. Some friend.

  3. Good for her, it’s encouraging that she did have a boyfriend so she experienced a bit of a different man and relationship, and she knows that she needs to move forwards not backwards.

  4. Good for her, I hope she finds happiness.

It will be interesting to see the dynamic between Kody and Robyn now that everyone is gone.
