Jill Dillard Shuts Down Rumors That She Didn’t Attend Her Sister Jana Duggar’s Recent Wedding: “Wouldn’t Have Missed It!”

“Jilly D was in the house!”

Jana Duggar said “I do” last week, marrying Steven Wissmann in a wedding surrounded by friends and her extra-large family. However, one Duggar— Jill Dillard— appeared to be suspiciously missing from the wedding day photos that had been posted by Jana & Co, prompting Counting On fans to wonder online if Jill had not been invited to the wedding, due to her estrangement from her dad, Jim Bob Duggar.

Others wondered if Jana and Jill— who had once been extremely close— had a falling out over Jill’s recent tell-all book about her family.

While Jill was left out of Jana’s wedding party, she confirmed on Tuesday that she was not left out of the wedding festivities and that she and her husband Derick Dillard did, in fact, attend.

Jill posted a reel of photos and videos of the wedding to Instagram, showing her and Derick posing with the bride and groom, as well as the entire Duggar family. (Jill and Derick’s three kids did not attend the wedding; however, Jill stated in the comment section of her post that the kids did attend a family dinner the night before the wedding. Jill mentioned that “space was tight” at the 500-guest wedding.)

Despite the turmoil with her family, Jill told a person in the comment section of her post that she “wouldn’t have missed it for the world!”

“Yes, we were invited to attend. She was a beautiful bride,” she told another person. “We wish them all the best.”

Jill and Derick even posed for the family photo. (They can be seen on the left side, in the back row.)

Jill and Derick weren’t the only “surprising” guests at Jana and Steven’s nuptials. According to Jill, several of the crew members from 19 Kids & Counting and ‘Counting On’ also attended the wedding. (One other eyebrow-raising attendee was Anna Duggar, whose husband Josh obviously didn’t attend, due to him currently being in federal prison. Interestingly, though, Anna and six of her seven kids were excluded from the big Duggar family photo.)

Jana’s wedding bucked several of the Duggars’ traditions and standards. Her wedding dress was off-the-shoulder and much-more “risqué” than any previous Duggar bride’s. She also disregarded the Duggar tradition of getting married in a church and instead opted for an event center, where Jana and her husband surprisingly did a “first dance,” despite the Duggars’ being opposed to dancing.)

“The first Duggar wedding with a first dance!” Jill wrote in the comment section of her post.

Jill continued to comment on the wedding in a series of photos posted to Instagram Stories.

“What a gorgeous day for a gorgeous couple,” Jill captioned a photo of her and Derick with the bride and groom. “Derick and I are so happy for y’all!”

Jill wasn’t the only Duggar sibling to express happiness over Jana finally tying the knot. On Monday, her younger brother James posted more wedding photos to his Instagram account, along with a sweet message.

“Watching my sister marry the man of her dreams has filled my heart with so much joy!” he wrote. “She’s found an amazing, godly man who truly complements her in every way. I have prayed for this day for years and I couldn’t be more happy for you both!! So excited to see what God has in store for y’all!”

  1. Why are some children’s faces blocked out and others are not?
Also why is only one of Josh’s kids in the massive family photo?

    1. Because some of the couples have decided that they don’t want their children’s faces on social media
