Following an extremely successful online fundraiser, Michael Ilesanmi has officially lawyered up to contest the annulment filed by his estranged wife, Angela Deem, Starcasm reports.
According to the outlet, the 90 Day Fiancé star has enlisted the legal services of Andrea M. Johnson, an attorney in Alpharetta, Georgia. Not only has Michael’s attorney been licensed to practice in the state of Georgia for more than two decades, but she also reportedly specializes in family law and has experience with immigration cases.
Michael’s new attorney is now going after Angela, claiming the self-anointed “SEKSI” queen is guilty of abusing Michael– both on- and off-camera.
Michael’s newly-appointed attorney filed an entry of appearance in Jeff Davis Superior Court on Tuesday, confirming that she is representing the 36-year-old in his annulment case. The entry of appearance was filed exactly one week after Michael launched an online fundraiser for the purpose of hiring a lawyer to help him in the legal battle against his 58-year-old wife Angela.
In just over a week, he has received more than $43,000 in donations through his GoFundMe. The fundraiser has had more than 2,200 people donate.
As The Ashley previously told you, Angela filed for an annulment in June, claiming that her Nigerian husband allegedly “fraudulently induced [her] into a marriage for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status in the United States.”
In his response to the annulment, Michael– who is seeking a divorce in lieu of an annulment– denied the allegations of fraud, claiming that he did not abandon Angela, but rather “fled an abusive situation for his own safety.”
According to documents obtained by Starcasm, Michael alleges that Angela “is guilty of cruel treatment against him,” claiming that Angela “committed both physical and mental abuse”– both publicly and privately– during the course of their marriage.
“Some of this abuse was documented while the parties were present and filming reality television shows,” the filing continues.
Michael is seeking spousal support from Angela and asking that his and Angela’s shared assets be split evenly. He is also requesting that Angela be required to cover his attorney’s fees and costs of litigation.
While Michael wants Angela to cover his legal fees, he’s already made some major progress in coming up with the funds himself, with his GoFundMe managing to surpass its $25,000 goal within two days of launching. Despite quickly surpassing the goal, donations have continued to roll in for the TLC star and, as of press time on Wednesday, Michael has raised more than $43,000. (The GoFundMe goal was initially set at $50,000, but Michael amended it to $25,000 the first day the fundraiser went live.)
After learning last week that Michael had already exceeded his fundraising goal, Angela took to TikTok to slam not only Michael, but those who chose to contribute to his crowdfunding efforts.
“Did you see Michael made his goal? What is wrong with you, United States of America?!” Angela ranted from inside of a public restroom. “I am totally ashamed right now. Who makes a GoFundMe, makes $25,000 for legal fees when we have people out there who are posting [to raise money] for sick kids, sick moms or veterans out there who don’t even get $25,000. Wake up, America! This is unacceptable … .”

Angela went on to sarcastically congratulate Michael for raising the funds, before warning him that he is “gonna need it.”
Prior to Michael meeting his fundraising goal last week, Angela claimed that Michael should have been “expecting this annulment.”
“ … Well, b*tch, did you not know when I said [during our wedding vows], ‘Obey who, obey what?’ I’m not the submissive Mother Queen, ok?” Angela shared on TikTok. “What do you think, you can hang in Texas or California or New York and get the little scratch on your lip and then I was gonna sit down?
“Obviously I know you more than you know me,” she continued. “GoFundMe, my a**! How about GoFundMe and give me back my years I spent on a scammer? Boom!”
Angela has not yet responded— in court or on social media— to Michael’s filing.

Are you people all brain dead? Angela is a monster and Michael knew it from day one and he took it all for 7 years, not out of love but with a determined mindset of staying the course until he made it to America. Yes, he knew once he got to America it wouldn’t take long for Angela to give him proof, on American soil, of how abusive she can be. Than he could finally use that as an excuse to get away from this monster and have great grounds for staying in America but also grounds for her to continue to support him and be responsible for all his needs for the next ten years as mandated by the agreement she signed with the government to get the K-1 visa. Yes, she is a monster and Michael is very calculating and cruised the web until he found the perfect candidate to pursue. Congratulations, Michael you finally succeeded. It took a long 7 years and you played the part well enough to have all these idiots support you in everyway to stay in America. Okay you admit Angela is a monster. And yes Michael stuck with her for 7 years. But Angela is beyond a monster. She screams, curses, tears a car apart…you cannot tell me she is not abusive with her daughters and grandchildren. She flirts shamelessly with men thinking she is such a prize. If Michael used her to come to america, so be it. Angela thinks she is always right, smarter than everyone. In truth she is a bully, mentally, physically and emotionally. Good for Michael! I hope he burns her butt in court. He was abused by her for so long, she should have to pay for his attorney. She is one sick person and to be honest she acts like she is a man sometimes with her words. I feel bad for her grandkids and can only imagine the profanities she uses in the home around the kids. Here she was just talking about paying for Botox to keep Michael interested in her. She should have used that money on counseling or a course on manners instead. One nasty person she is.
It’s funny how in EVERY article I have read or anything regarding Angela’s response to this whole thing has been along the lines of “B**ch this and b**ch that” and Michael has kept his mouth shut or has responded like a human with dignity. We all have seen how she treats him on tv so it shouldn’t be hard to prove she’s an abuser. Angela thought she’d have the support of the viewers on her side up until recently aired footage. Both Angela and Michael should each take blame for this relationship not working out cause their both guilty.
