Filming for Season 12 of Vanderpump Rules remains on pause, but drama among the cast continues to play out on podcasts, social media and more.
Following a tense Season 11, which saw many of the former SUR employees at odds with one another in the wake of Scandoval, Lala Kent revealed this week that she’s still on the outs with multiple people from the show, including Katie Maloney.
On Wednesday’s episode of her Give Them Lala podcast, Lala reflected on how her and Katie’s once “very close” friendship changed in the last season of the Bravo series, telling listeners she doesn’t think she and Katie “have anything in common anymore.”
“ … and that’s OK,” she said. “I don’t even know what we would talk about [now]. We’re just in such different places and I think that friendship was meant to be the way it was for the time being.”
While Lala– who is currently expecting her second child– claims her and Katie’s closeness “ran its course,” she doesn’t regret their friendship, much like she doesn’t regret the close friendship she once had with costar Ariana Madix or former ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star Kristen Doute, who is now a cast member on The Valley.
“They all have a really special place in my heart,” she said.
“I had a really fun time with Ariana when I first was on the show,” Lala continued. “Katie, my friendship with her [during] Season 10, I thought that that friendship was really on point. When I think back, I’m like, ‘Wow, even though it was a hard time in my life, that friendship really got me through a tough time in my life.’
“I have nothing but fond memories of that friendship,” Lala added. “I have nothing but fond memories of the friendship I had with Ariana and Doute. But people change and move on.”
Lala specifically recalled the “fun times” she shared with “the Witches of WeHo,” aka Katie, Kristen and Stassi Schroeder– the latter of whom not only remains close friends with Lala, but also helped to plan her recent baby shower.
“There were so many fun times that if I could go back and relive those moments, I totally would,” Lala said.
As for the chance of any remaining tension between her and Katie resurfacing when (or if) ‘Vanderpump Rules’ resumes filming, Lala said she doesn’t see it happening, as “there’s not a lot to talk about anymore” between the two of them, largely due to them being “in different stages of life.”
Still, Lala said she wishes Katie– as well as Ariana and Kristen– “all the best.”
