From finding out your ex is getting hitched to finding a solution to fix a boring TV show, it’s been a busy week for the stars/former stars of the Teen Mom franchise! In an effort to bring you up-to-date on the latest Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Teen Mom, Teen Mom: Young & Pregnant and Teen Mom 2 news, The Ashley brings you the Teen Mom News Pile.
Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last week or so…
Amber Portwood Reacts to the News That Her Former Fiancé, Gary “Gary 2.0” Wayt, Is Already Engaged to Someone Else
Amber’s most-recent fiancé named Gary has moved on, and the ‘Teen Mom’ star is reacting to the news that the Gary That Got Away is already engaged to another woman.
The ‘Teen Mom’ franchise’s resident couch potato recently found out that Gary Wayt— the man she was (very) briefly engaged to earlier this year— is reportedly planning to marry another woman, just months after he and Amber split.
As The Ashley reported back in June, Gary 2.0 and Amber attended a wedding in North Carolina. Days later, Amber tearfully begged fans for prayers for her fiancé, who stormed out of their vacation rental without his phone and took off without contacting her or his family. The search for Gary lasted several days– with Gary even being officially listed as a missing person in North Carolina— before Gary was spotted in Oklahoma and New Mexico. He later called police to let them know he was “missing” by choice and wasn’t in danger. Amber and Gary 2.0’s engagement officially ended in late June, after the former lovers finally communicated.
The @TeenMomFanz Instagram account recently revealed that Gary “proposed to his new lady friend last weekend at a restaurant in Seattle, Washington.”
On Monday, Amber was asked by Us Weekly for a reaction to the news that Gary 2.0 had reportedly once again asked a girl to marry him after a very short period of dating.
“Congratulations,” Amber said to Gary 2.0 via a statement to the magazine.
A “source” (who is definitely, absolutely not Amber…at all) then told Us Weekly that Amber is “still reeling from the whirlwind experience” of her relationship and failed engagement to Gary.
“As long as Gary realizes that he will always be Amber’s ex, best of luck,” the source (who is, again, totally not Amber) added. “… it seems really, really quick.”
Gary’s proposal to Amber— which took place in May— and the aftermath is currently playing out on ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.’ Gary 2.0 himself has yet to speak out publicly about his split from Amber or his new engagement. It is unknown how Amber and Gary’s breakup (and the whole “Runaway Gary” incident) will be incorporated into the upcoming episodes.
Kayla Sessler Says Some of the Girls on ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ Need to Get Booted for Being Boring
‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ hasn’t exactly been killing it in the ratings, but Kayla recently gave her thoughts on how the long-in-the-tooth ‘Teen Mom’ shows can attract more viewers.
Kayla– who starred on ‘Young & Pregnant’ in addition the most-recent season of Teen Mom Family Reunion— spoke out in an Instagram comment about how to make the show more-interesting. In her comment, Kayla suggested booting off some of the girls with the boring storylines and letting some of the ‘Young & Pregnant’ girls take their spots.
“In my opinion they need to add some ‘Young & Pregnant’ girls,” Kayla wrote. “And get rid of some of the less-interesting storylines. Orrrr revamp Y&P.”
The Ashley broke the news last year that MTV had cancelled ‘Young & Pregnant’ after just three seasons. Kayla and Kiaya Elliott went on to appear on this year’s ‘Family Reunion’ season, but the show’s other stars– Madisen Beith, Rachel Beaver and Brianna Jaramillo— have not appeared on any ‘Teen Mom’ show since the cancellation.
Some of the girls responded to Kayla’s suggestion and seemed to be in favor of the idea. Kiaya responded with a clapping emoji, while Rachel responded with “wide eyes” emoji.
‘Teen Mom’ fans also had some suggestions on which girls’ storylines are dustier than Zach Davis‘ stack of resumes.
“Cheyenne was never even a teen mom,” one person wrote in the post’s comment section. “She’s privileged and has no idea what struggle even is. They are just making up problems for her at this point for a storyline.”
Others were in favor of giving Amber Portwood the heave-ho.
“Just please take Amber off. Like it’s long overdue,” one person wrote. “They can still do scenes with [Amber’s daughter] Leah & the family. Like we know who they are, so it wouldn’t be odd.”
“If anything, Amber needs to GO,” someone else commented. “A show about being a mother and the only thing she has custody of is her damn couch.”
Others were in favor of giving the entire 30+-year-old cast the boot and hiring some actual teenage mothers.
“They definitely need to UPDATE this show these ladies are NOT teen moms, they have already gotten paid now they need to venture off this show,” someone wrote. “Geez get some REAL struggling teen moms! Those are the real stories.”
Ashley Jones Apologizes to Cheyenne Floyd for Slamming Chey’s Husband Zach Davis While Bragging About Her Own Husband Bar Smith Years Ago
Ashley is eating her words— and apologizing to her co-star Cheyenne for a brutal online sparring match that went down years ago between the two.
During a recent TikTok Live, Ashley was called out by fans for once bragging about her then-husband Bar, and blasting Cheyenne on X for choosing to marry Zach, whom Ashley claimed at the time was Cheyenne’s “second choice.” The online sparring match was just one of many that took place between Ashley and Cheyenne several years ago. (Last year, Ashley stated that she regretted her actions and words against Cheyenne.)
However, last week Ashley had to address the situation again, when fans pointed out that Chey and Zach are still together, while Ashley and Bar are currently going through a divorce, and Bar is sitting behind bars after allegedly holding Ashley hostage last month.
“I have been seeing this comment so much, ‘You’re the one that told Cheyenne that Zach was her second choice and Bar was your first choice, and look at Bar,'” Ashley said on Live. “I did say that. And now I regret it!”
Ashley got a good laugh out of her previous comments before adding, “Come on! We all say s**t! I never said he was my only choice! He was my first, but he’s not my only! Like damn. Can a bitch move on? Sorry Chey!”
Cheyenne appears to have moved on from the drama as well, as she left a comment full of crying laughing emojis in the comment section of Ashley’s post.
“Y’all thought you really had me with that one,” Ashley said. “The truth is, I shouldn’t have said that! And the universe is making me eat it. It’s OK!”

As The Ashley previously reported, Bar recently withdrew his request to be let out of jail and/or have his $35,000 bail reduced. He will remain behind bars at least until September, when his next court hearing is scheduled.
Kail Lowry Announces She’s Taking Her Circus Act Podcast On Tour
Former ‘Teen Mom 2’ star Kail Lowry is hitting the road next month and inviting fans to join her…by purchasing a ticket to one of her tour dates.
The newly-engaged mom of seven released the dates for Barely F*cking Touring with Kail Lowry, a series of live shows she’s bringing to four comedy clubs beginning September. (Kail’s tour name is a play on words of Barely Famous, one of the many podcasts she hosts.)
“Experience the excitement of Kail Lowry’s events, from live shows and meet-and-greets to exclusive gatherings,” her event website states.
Kail’s first show is slated for September 17 at the Funny Bone in Columbus, Ohio. Joining Kail for the event is Vee Torres, her Baby Mamas No Drama podcast co-host, and Alessandra Gonzalez, who co-hosts the Vibin’ And Kinda Thrivin’ podcast with Vee.
Kail’s second and third shows will be held in Texas– September 24 at Houston Improv and September 25 at Addison Improv in Dallas. There will be special guest(s) joining Kail for these events, but she has yet to announce who she’s blackmailed into taking part in this mess bringing along.
Kail’s final Barely F**king Touring event will take place October 9 at the Helium Comedy Club in Pennsylvania. A TBA special guest will be on hand for this event, too.
Tickets for Kail’s Columbus event start at $32 for General Admission, with VIP tickets available for $85. (A VIP ticket for this show includes priority seating and a “meet and greet with the artist.”) General Admission tickets for either of Kail’s Texas shows are priced at just $25, while a VIP table– which includes entry and meet and greet for four people– is priced at $200. Tickets for Kail’s final show are not yet on sale.
While the format of Kail’s events has not been revealed, she’s promising fans “the most real, raw and uncomfortable conversations with guests you’d never expect.”
“With exes, friends, celebrities, TikTokers, and everyone in between, things will definitely get weird,” her event bio reads. “It’s a side of Kail you’ve never heard before! No topic is off limits.”

Kail, like all of the characters in the TM franchise prove time and time again that money doesn’t buy class.
I swear I would have never watched this show all those years ago if I knew that I would be contributing to the “success” of these people to be doing the dumbass shit they’re doing in 2024.

And Look, I am in no way whatsoever an Amber fan but to be engaged already… I wouldn’t say that Amber is the only one with a mental illness. The father of my youngest is literally a diagnosed Narcissist and he is EXACTLY the same way. It’s not normal to get engaged again in this amount of time. I mean, do what you will but it’s not normal. And again, for the record, Amber is not normal either and in ABSOLUTELY no way am I saying this in… her favor (?) I guess? I feel like these women need to realize the men they picked to father their children are not prizes. The only one I have any respect for is Joe, because he keeps to himself. Otherwise, yeah, the rest of the original baby daddies are trash, although Devoin seems to have a good heart. He just has rocks for brains which leads to poor choices.
Teen mom really should follow the format of unexpected. The stories became boring once the girls started bringing in $$. These girls are in their 30s raising teenagers in mansions. What’s relatable about that?
The only thing worth the price of admission to Kail’s Klown Tour (besides a one-on-one with Brittany DeJesus) would be her admitting that she is an abusive racist who parentifies her children.
Also, Kayla is spot on and the removal of Chey, Amber, and Jenelle in favor of The Beavers would keep the show entertaining.

I can’t say “you couldn’t pay me enough” to see Kail’s show because we all have a price. I think my price for a few hours of that torture is around $5k. A few hundred or even $1000 wouldn’t be enough. And $5k would only cut it if it were within an easy 15 minute drive and with easy parking. And I’d have to be home by 9:30pm. And I’d need at least one friend with me so I could snark the entire time and laugh AT Kail, not with her.
