Alana Thompson Posts Receipts To Prove Her Boyfriend Dralin Carswell’s Criminal Record Isn’t the Reason They Can’t Find a Rental Home

“Y’all can send your apology cars to the cardboard box we’re apparently going to be living in soon…”

Alana Thompson is coming to the defense of her boyfriend Dralin Carswell– and she’s bringing a stack of receipts to do it.

Earlier this week, Alana took to social media to reveal that she and Dralin have less than a week to secure a place to live in Denver, Colorado. After Alana claimed that they have been unable to find a place– allegedly due to Dralin’s student loan debt– the Mama June: Family Crisis star was met with many comments from fans encouraging her to ditch her boyfriend. Others suggested that it was actually Dralin’s criminal record that was preventing the two from finding a place to rent.

In a new TikTok video, Alana denied that Dralin’s past has anything to do with it. She also posted reciepts to show that she and Dralin had been good tenants at their current rental home.

“If worst comes to worst, we can always do what Mama and Gino did and get our hotel hoppin’ on…”

As fans know, Alana moved to Colorado last summer to attend Regis University, where she is studying to become a neonatal nurse. Dralin relocated with Alana at the time and the two have been renting a place together since August 2023. Alana told fans this week that she and Dralin have to find a new place to live by September 1; however, she claimed they have been unable to find a place that will approve them as renters due to Dralin having more than $20,000 in student loans.

Despite Alana’s explanation, many fans assumed that the real reason Alana and Dralin’s rental applications have been denied is because Dralin has an arrest record. (As The Ashley previously reported, Dralin pleaded not guilty in October 2023 to charges stemming from a February 2023 police chase.) In response, Alana took to TikTok to share a series of screenshots, attempting to set the record straight and defend her man.

In the first two screenshots were letters addressed to Dralin– both dated August 21, 2024– allegedly in response to rental applications he had submitted. In each of the responses, it stated that the application was unable to be approved due to “credit history” and having “past due debt.”

The next screenshot Alana posted appeared to be some sort of background check stating that the individual– allegedly Dralin, though his name did not appear on the document– did not have any open cases regarding landlord-tenant history, criminal/public records history and confirming that the individual is not a registered sex offender or on any “watchlists.”

In response to those who had also accused her and Dralin of getting kicked out of their current rental, Alana included a screenshot of an alleged text conversation between her and her current landlord, who praised the pair for being good tenants and even offered to write a letter of recommendation to a rental company on the couple’s behalf.

“You guys have been great and paid on time so we can work out whatever you need,” the landlord told Alana. “Let me know what you want me to say in the letter and with RentRedi I can also create rental payment history reports … .”

Along with the series of screenshots, Alana posted a lengthy statement in the caption of her TikTok, telling fans she has “no reason to lie.”

“Why would I lie about something so simple when I could just tell the truth?” Alana wrote. “Since this is now a hot topic, let me clarify: No, we did not get denied for the home because of Dralin’s criminal record. We were denied for the reason I already shared with everyone–I have no reason to lie!

“And while we’re on the subject, I keep hearing people say that we have bad rental history, and that’s why we can’t get a new home,” she continued. “The only reason we’re not renewing our lease is that we need a bigger yard for our dogs, and no, I’m not getting rid of them! We also want to be in a better area, and the parking situation here is a hassle. But y’all keep talking–I love to hear it! I may tell you a story, but I never tell you a lie!”

Replying to @Christina Why would I lie about something so simple when I could just tell the truth? Since this is now a hot topic, let me clarify: No, we did not get denied for the home because of Dralin’s criminal record. We were denied for the reason I already shared with everyone—I have no reason to lie! And while we’re on the subject, I keep hearing people say that we have bad rental history, and that’s why we can’t get a new home. That’s just not true. The only reason we’re not renewing our lease is that we need a bigger yard for our dogs, and no, I’m not getting rid of them! We also want to be in a better area, and the parking situation here is a hassle. But y’all keep talking—I love to hear it! 🤣 I may tell you a story, but I never tell you a lie 🤌🏻! #fyp #honeybooboo

  1. So their choosing to be homeless by choice because they refuse to live in anything short of a “single family home”? Typical reality tv spoiled brat syndrome. Sometimes you have to take what you can get until you can get what you need that’s part of being an adult.

  2. No credit history, no jobs…. I can’t IMAGINE why no one will rent to them. Go be a college student and live in school housing. Stop dragging your no job criminal boyfriend with you. Typical statistic.

  3. A history of “past due debts” means someone is not paying their bills. Why would they rent to someone who doesn’t pay their bills on time? 🤷🏻‍♀️

  4. That background check is one she did in her own name (and a potential landlord who decides not to rent to you isn’t going to give you the results they got, btw, lol). All of the boxes and lack of information in them, applies to her and not Dralin.

Dralin’s record would, and does, absolutely show up on any criminal background check. His arrests show, indictments, sentences, etc… Even if a case is later dismissed, the particulars of the case are still present on actual background checks, especially arrests. They don’t magically disappear because you want them to.

None of these “receipts” are what she thinks they are, and not a single one of them actually speaks highly of her. If the only reason they need to move out has to do with wanting more room, they wouldn’t have a “be out by” date. Something tells me those texts aren’t even actually from her current landlord, but someone else she wants to fake shit for her. A landlord isn’t kicking out “good tenants” for no reason at all. There’s a reason beyond them needing room. She wouldn’t be so “desperate for housing” if they weren’t being kicked out for something. No landlord worth a lick is going to falsify documents considered legal transactional proof of something (actual receipts). It would get them in just as much hot water as it will get her, and it’s not worth the effort.

  5. Guess what Honey Boo Boo. The world does not owe you a living. Grow up. Get a damn job and tell Meathead to do the same if he is that important to you. College is expensive and you chose to go to school in Colorado. The world does not revolve around you and your crazy ass mother. It is obvious you and meathead are not starving to death. Figure it out! We do not owe you a living!

  6. I don’t know if Darlin has a previously history but he hasn’t been convicted of this yet. Also MANY apartment complexes in my town will not rent to anyone with a felony and they can’t even be on the lease as an occupied. So here you have to go to Southside where they don’t care about credit or criminal just money.

  7. She’s so fucking condescending with her ‘oKaY GirLiE bUt PoP OfF!’ bullshit that she’s too damned ignorant to sound out the third line of CRIMINAL HISTORY as a cause of not being able to get an apartment. She needs to take her grifter ass on & I hope nobody gives her one red cent. Maybe then she can take her own advice to ‘pop off’, moron.

  8. No landlord-tenant history and the landlord has to create rental payment history reports for her? Why doesn’t she have ACTUAL receipts from paying her rent? Something about this isn’t adding up. “We can work something out but also you need to move by 9/1 but I can help you make up paperwork that you should already have” is extremely suspicious behavior from a landlord. Unless shes living in aurora or directly on colfax, there’s no really bad neighborhoods around here. Sketchy areas FOR SURE, but I’d really be questioning where she’s at now vs what she thinks a nicer area is. My sister in Christ, this is a major city. Everything here is a little messy and probably the worst thing about the city is how they interact with the homeless population

  9. Realtor here…..It’s not the student loans, it’s the “past due” part that’s hurting his credit and causing them to be declined. It doesn’t take much to bring them current under the fresh start initiative. They just have to want to!

  10. A Quick Look at her university website shows this – she actually had to petition to be allowed to not live in student housing – probably because she wanted to live with him.

‘First-year and second-year students are required to live on campus unless a Housing Exemption Form is completed and approved by Housing and Residential Engagement.’

  11. Nobody gives a shit Boo Boo. Normal people even college students WORK and build credit. Not beg strangers to do it for you. And yes these people are grifters and liars. They learned it from June the biggest liar of them all.

  12. Imagine almost becoming homeless over a stupid dog and “needing a yard” for a dumbass fucking ugly smelly dog.

    1. I’d rehome those animals so fast. Reason why I don’t have pets. I’m not going to pay more just to keep them or lose out on property because of them. Kids are expensive enough! 😩

  13. The fact that she mentions wanting a single family home with a bigger yard and better neighborhood with parking suggests they are looking at premium properties where the competition are established upper middle class adults and families. She might theoretically mathematically be able to afford the rent on houses like that but is nowhere near as safe a bet as the 44 year old senior engineering project manager at Lockheed/doctor/ who also applied. I personally think the Dralin’s criminal history is probably more of a red flag than his student loan debt, but it really could be as simple as she is applying to properties that would never lease to *any* 19 year old.

  14. I once gave a good reference to a horrible tenant to get rid of him. Also, in some states, denying a lease for a criminal record is becoming a touchy issue. Looks like Dralin has been late with payments, so that’s an easier out.

  15. Doesn’t the second screenshot say Dralin wasn’t approved because he has a criminal record?? 🤣🤣 It may not be the only reason, but it certainly plays a part in why he wasn’t accepted. If it were me, I’d drop his bum ass, stay in a dorm, and figure my life out from there.

    1. This is it right here.

I suppose “their money” is mostly “her money”, and it’s quite a burden paying for everything already let alone carrying a grown ass man’s debt.
