Season 8 of Selling Sunset is still days away from premiering on Netflix, but the cast drama is already well underway.
According to Daily Mail, Nicole Young is being accused by two of her ‘Selling Sunset’ castmates of spreading a rumor in the upcoming season of the Netflix series that cast member Emma Hernan had an affair with a married man. The backlash began after the ‘Selling Sunset’ cast was recently given screeners for the new episodes ahead of this week’s premiere.
Chrishell Stause– one of the most vocal cast members to speak out about the alleged lie– took to social media over the weekend, claiming she was so angry about the rumor that someone needed to come take her phone away. She also proclaimed that she would rather be sued than ever work with Nicole again.
“Are we really still giving air time to LIARS that just want air time,” Chrishell added, along with a poll asking viewers if they were in favor of getting Nicole “off [their TV] screens,” with the options being, “Yes” and “HELL YES.”
Chrishell proceeded to warn viewers that in the upcoming season, Nicole “spews a disgusting lie about a bestie that is categorically FALSE and SUPER damaging,” which Chrishell maintains is “not true.”
She also vowed to “never work on a show” with Nicole again.
“I would rather be sued,” she added, while also calling out the production company behind ‘Selling Sunset’ for “blindsiding” Emma and not allowing her the opportunity to “defend herself with the truth.”
Chelsea Lazkani also addressed the cast drama over the weekend, calling Nicole a “piece of trash.”
“Good morning everyone, except [Nicole Young],” she posted to her Instagram Story. “[Nicole] you are the most diabolical piece of 🗑️ I’ve ever met. You wanna start a rumor about Emma because all the rumors about you are true. OK, let’s see how this works out for you.”
Like Chrishell, Chelsea also called out the show’s production company for “spreading lies for views,” while also accusing cast members Bre Tiesi and Mary Bonnet of being involved in the drama.
While Emma has remained less-vocal than her co-stars about the drama slated to play out in Season 8, she posted a photo of herself, Chrishell and Chelsea to social media over the weekend, seemingly thanking them for speaking up for her.
“My ❤️,” Emma captioned the photo.
Despite the backlash, Nicole reportedly doubled down on her claims about Emma, initially posting to her Instagram Story that those accusing her of lying needed to confront Emma about the matter.
“As a married woman, I strongly and confidently stand for the sanctity of all marriages,” she wrote. “Instead of attacking me and accusing me of lying, I think you ladies need to ask your bestie some tough questions. Did she let you know she was directly confronted on-camera at the Season 7 finale by the wife’s best friend?
“Even still, I stated this info as a rumor,” she continued. “And given both of you have been the victim of extramarital affairs, I would think you too would stand for the sanctity of all marriages.”
Nicole later took to her Instagram Story on Monday insisting that she’s unbothered by her co-stars’ allegations.
“With all the outside drama this weekend, this has been the vibe at our house 😂 #unbothered,” she wrote, alongside photos of her dogs. “Truly unbothered. Life is good.”

I have never even watched one episode. But aren’t reality tv shows pretty much known for not having a big moral compass? Lies to a production company is money in their bank accounts. I’m sure they welcome lies and misinformation. MTV continues to employ domestic abusers. TLC does the same. To them it’s money. Someone’s mental health is not and never will be their priority.
