The felony charges just keep coming for Bar Smith.
The Teen Mom dad— who has been behind bars since July— is now facing four felony charges, following his Grand Jury Indictment hearing, which was held Friday in Nevada. The Ashley can confirm that the State Attorney was successful in getting a felony-level charge of “Aggravated Stalking” added to Bar’s already-lengthy list of alleged crimes that stem from his arrest on July 7. (As The Ashley previously reported, Bar was arrested after allegedly holding Ashley hostage in her apartment and threatening to harm her.)
Bar had already been charged with second-degree kidnapping, residential burglary, and coercion constituting domestic violence (all felony level) for the alleged incident.
The Ashley can also confirm that the State Attorney successfully got Bar’s bail increased from $35,000 (with high-level electronic monitoring), to $250,000 (with high-level monitoring).
According to court records obtained by The Ashley, the added charge and increased bail was due to the surfacing of “new knowledge that was not in the police report.” (Click here to read the police report!)
“The charge of aggravated stalking was added as [Bar] has been harassing and terrorizing [Ashley] in text messages,” the State Attorney claimed, adding that Bar has a “lengthy criminal history in California,” as well as an active felony warrant in the Golden State.
The State Attorney argued to the Grand Jury that Bar “is a danger to the victim, child and victim’s family, as well as a flight risk.”
Both the added felony charge and increase in bail had to be agreed upon by “at least 12 members” of a Grand Jury, something the court records confirm happened.
Bar is forbidden to have any contact with Ashley or her family. (Ashley’s family has been very outspoken in recent weeks about their feelings on Bar.)
Although he will remain in jail at least until his next court later this month, Bar’s jury trial is set to begin on October 21.
In additional to his criminal court case, Bar is also dealing with a divorce court case. As The Ashley previously reported, Ashley filed for divorce from Bar last month. Bar was served (while in jail) with the divorce papers on August 8, and The Ashley can confirm that the ‘Teen Mom’ dad does not appear to be objecting to the divorce.
In fact, a hearing for an “Uncontested Divorce” has been set for November 6. In order to qualify for an “Uncontested Divorce,” Ashley and Bar must have both agreed on the reason for the divorce, and agreed on the terms of the divorce (i.e. child custody for their daughter Holly, any debts, child support, alimony, etc.)
In her divorce paperwork, Ashley stated that she and Bar have been separated since March, but that their daughter has lived solely with her since July 2022. Ashley is reportedly asking for sole custody of Holly and requesting that the court determine the child support amount Bar will be required to pay. She is not, however, seeking any spousal support.
Ashley also declined requesting visitation for Bar in her filing, explaining in the documents that Bar is “in jail until further notice.”
“[Bar] is currently in jail awaiting trial for a DV case against myself,” she detailed. “He is in jail on multiple felony charges. Given that he is already on probation out of California for gun charges and he is [now] in Nevada custody on more serious charges I fear his decision making skills are very questionable.”

Well..
This is what happens when you never let your children take any responsibility for their actions. Shen or whatever his mother’s name is always made excuses I bet and still continues to. She’s nuts.
