Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick of The Valley are tying the knot!
Luke proposed to Kristen earlier this week while on a boat in Maui, Hawaii, where the cast of the Bravo series– sans Jax Taylor– are currently on a group trip.
“It was a total surprise,” Kristen told Us Weekly of Luke’s sunset proposal, admitting that she blurted out some expletives upon seeing Luke on one knee, holding a ring–- a 14K white gold, 4.27 emerald-cut diamond, featuring a half-carat worth of diamonds on the band and hidden halo–- that he picked out with the help of friend and jeweler Kyle Chan.
Kristen shared the engagement news on social media Friday, along with a series of photos taken during the surprise proposal.
“I’m wrapped around your finger like this ring I’m wearing 🤟🏽💍 out of all the fish in the sea, you chose me,” she wrote on Instagram, while also giving a shout out to Kyle “for creating the most beautiful ring.”
Kristen and Luke got plenty of congratulatory messages from their Bravo pals.
“Congratulations,” Ariana Madix wrote in the comment section of Kristen’s post. “So happy for both of you.”
“So happy for you. Love you so much,” commented Brittany Cartwright.
“Stunning!” Tom Schwartz added.
Prior to Kristen and Luke’s engagement news going public, Kyle posted a video to his Instagram Story of Luke’s reptile, whom he is currently pet-sitting. Luke later shared Kyle’s video, while dropping a big hint to fans that a proposal was in the works.
“Thanks Kyle!! For soo much 😉,” Luke wrote.
Kristen and Luke went public with their relationship in December 2022, later revealing that they had met at a wedding in June 2022 while serving as a bridesmaid and groomsmen, respectively. Kristen told Us Weekly that she knew from the moment they met that Luke was her “person.”
“I am so excited to continue this journey together, now as fiancés,” she added.
As fans of ‘The Valley’ know, Kristen and Luke have been very open about wanting to get married and start a family. In November, Kristen shared on her Sex, Love and What Else Matters podcast that she had suffered a miscarriage while trying to conceive her first child. The former Vanderpump Rules star, who was six weeks along in her pregnancy at the time, called the experience “f**king terrifying,” but told listeners that she and Luke planned to try again and were “hopeful to have a very healthy pregnancy the next time around.”
Kristen also revealed on the episode that a psychic told her she would have a baby boy “somewhere between [the age of] 41 and 42.”
For the record, Kristen is currently 41 and will celebrate her 42nd birthday on February 17.
