Sammi Giancola Says Her Secret IVF Journey Will Be Discussed on Upcoming Season of ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’

“Gym, Tan, Laundry Let’s Make a Baby.”

Sammi Giancola is taking viewers along on her in-vitro fertilization (IVF) journey in the new season of Jersey Shore Family Vacation, premiering this week on MTV.

According to the New York Post, Sam has been undergoing IVF treatments for the last year, as she and fiancé Justin May are hoping to start their own family.

As The Ashley previously told you, Sammi and Justin got engaged in March after three years of dating. (Sam was previously engaged to Christian Biscardi, though the pair split in 2021, just months before Sam and Justin began dating.)

Sammi, who is now 37 years old, froze her eggs at 35, deciding at the time that she wanted to have kids “one day.” She also revealed that, prior to starting her fertility journey, she and Justin had been trying to conceive naturally.

While Sam admits she was hesitant to share her IVF journey in such a public way, she ultimately decided to allow the MTV cameras to document the story.

“I’m a really private person, so this is kind of new for me,” she said. “I feel weird, I guess, showing the world this aspect of my life. But it’s real and it’s what I’m going through.”

On the upcoming season, viewers will watch as Sammi reveals to her castmates she’s trying to get pregnant, though. When asked how  her ex and co-star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro reacted, Sammi stated that Ron was “not around” when she was going through treatments.

“ … It’s not weird because he is a coworker and we’re not associated with one another,” Sammi insisted. “He is just somebody that I work with. That part of my life is completely over and long gone for a very long time now … And what I do in my life does not pertain to him.”

“I take it that I didn’t make your list of potential babysitters, either…”

Viewers will see Sammi giving herself hormone injections in the upcoming season; however, she noted that she didn’t allow the cameras to film any of her doctor appointments.

“I wanted to keep it a secret because, at first, I was like, ‘Listen, I don’t know if the outcome is what I want it to be … I will be devastated if it doesn’t work,’” she said. “You’re gonna see how everything plays out, but I really kept it private for a really long time.”

Sammi said she hopes sharing her IVF journey on ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’ will resonate with viewers.

“Maybe somebody can watch me and maybe understand or maybe they went through it or maybe they could just relate to me in some sort of way,” she said.

‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’ Season 7 Part 2 premieres Thursday, September 19, on MTV.

  1. Good for her for moving on.
However, not everything needs to be a MTV storyline. Good that she’s setting boundaries bc MTV needs told no.
