New Season of ‘Married At First Sight’ to Feature Wife Swap, Straying Spouses, Secret Sexting & More: Get Details

The moment Pastor Cal realized it was time to ask for a raise…

Get ready for a Married at First Sight season like never before!

The Lifetime series returns next month with five new couples who, according to Page Six, will be doing a lot more than saying “I do,” with Season 18 slated to feature the show’s first-ever wife swap.

Even the official ‘MAFS’ Instagram page is teasing the wife-swapping set to go down in the upcoming season by introducing viewers to the Season 18 couples, but not confirming if the pairs are set in stone.

“Introducing the couples of #MarriedAtFirstSight Season 18…or are they?” the account recently posted, along with photos of the cast paired up.

The wife-swap is also mentioned in the Season 18 trailer, after viewers are told that ‘MAFS’ will be moving to Tuesday nights.

“ … [that] won’t be the only thing that’s swapping in Season 18,” the preview states.

In addition to spouse-swapping, Season 18 will be bringing plenty of drama in the form of cheating bombshells, sexting scandals and more.

“Infidelity between two couples is unprecedented in ‘Married at First Sight’ history,” psychologist and sex therapist Dr. Pia Holec says in the newly released trailer.

“Bad news for the couples, GREAT news for our ratings…”

Viewers also get to hear some of the Season 18 cast weigh in on what’s in store for the upcoming season, with cast member Karla calling one of her fellow cast member’s actions “dirty,” Michelle calling out one of the Season 18 husbands for “sexting other women” while married, and Emem wishing someone “nothing but the worst” during what appears to be a heated confrontation.

The Season 18 trailer also shows several couples shouting, doors being slammed and a small fire being intentionally set in a kitchen.

“Ya know, maybe being single isn’t so bad after all…”

“You’ll be blown away by the Windy City drama,” viewers are told in the preview, referring to Season 18 being filmed in Chicago.

While Season 18 of ‘MAFS’ is looking like it will be one for the books, it’s following a season that many fans of the show dubbed nothing short of a dumpster fire. As The Ashley previously told you, three of the Season 17 couples called it quits prior to Decision Day and remaining couple Becca Haley and Austin Reed–- who opted to stay together despite the latter refusing to consummate the marriage–- went on to end things a day after Decision Day when Becca accused Austin of engaging in an inappropriate relationship with one of the show’s producer during a night out with some of the cast.

Season 18 of ‘Married at First Sight’ premieres October 15 on Lifetime. Ahead of the October 15 premiere, two specials will air October 8 on Lifetime: MAFS: Matchmaking Special and MAFS: Kickoff Special.

    1. I agree. I like watching and hoping for them to make it. Knowing that cheating happens in 2 relationships from the previews makes it not worth my time.

  1. I don’t have Lifetime anymore so I’ve been watching MAFS AU on shvideos.net. I find the Australian version to beat the pants off of the US version. They have weekly dinner parties and weekly commitment ceremonies. Check it out.

  2. Other shows have been lacking for years. ::cough cough:: looking at you Teen Mom. So I’m here for the messy of MAFS. At least they will be new people instead of the same tired ones we have seen for years.
