Kyle Christie Denies Rumors Saying He’s Been Blacklisted from ‘The Challenge’

Kyle is setting the record straight on his ongoing absence from ‘The Challenge.’

The Challenge star Kyle Christie has hit back at claims that he was blacklisted from the competition show over abuse allegations.

During an appearance on ‘Challenge’ alum Zach Nichols’ podcast, Kyle was asked about rumors saying that his past tumultuous relationship with ‘The Challenge’ star Cara Maria Sorbello led to him being banned from the show.

“It’s total, utter bulls**t,” he told the hosts.

Kyle pointed out that the last time he and Cara Maria even entertained anything romantic was during Final Reckoning in 2018. Since then, he had been on ‘The Challenge’ numerous times until his last appearance on Spies, Lies & Allies in 2021.

The, um, “happy” couple during ‘Final Reckoning’…

“It’s just a fan account [that] made up a rumor and then people who don’t like me or just dislike what I’ve done on the show have just tried to jump on the back of it,” he stated. “Don’t get me wrong, I love ‘The Challenge’ fans. I really do. I think they’re so passionate. They’re great. They’re awesome. But sometimes they’re also crazy.”

According to Kyle, the rumor grew because he never addressed it.

“It just got out of control, that rumor…I’m definitely not blacklisted because I’m still working for Geordie Shore. So ‘Geordie Shore’ is the same company as ‘The Challenge,” he explained, noting that he has done four seasons of the British reality show in the years he’s been away from ‘The Challenge.’

“Riddle me that. How am I blacklisted, when I’ve done four seasons and I’ve been called for every single show?” Kyle said.

Kyle went on to say he’s still “tight” with Cara’s man, Paulie Calafiore.

As The Ashley previously reported, a fan account on X previously alleged that Kyle was banned from the show over accusations that he was abusive to his ex, Cara Maria.

“There was an investigation regarding Kyle’s treatment of female cast– specifically Cara Maria. Cara came forward during & spoke about him being physically abusive towards her & getting physical with her on a season they did. This gets brought up on [Season] 40!” the X account posted.

Kyle was also named in an allegation by another female competitor, Amanda Garcia, who claimed that during the War of the Worlds season, Kyle, Johnny Bananas and Theo Campbell duct-taped her face.

The incident wasn’t aired, though Da’Vonne Rogers, who witnessed the event, opened up about it on her YouTube channel in 2019. She revealed that Amanda was talking smack so as a joke, the three men got some tape and wrapped it around her head in an effort to quiet her.

“It went from ‘Hahaha, this is funny’ to Amanda screaming and crying saying, ‘Stop, this hurts,’” Da’Vonne recalled.

She went on to describe Amanda crying while peeling the tape off her hair, which caused some strands of Amanda’s hair to fall out.

“It wasn’t cool,” Da’Vonne said. “I do feel like they owe her an apology.”

Despite reports of an investigation following the prank, Kyle has since appeared on four more seasons of ‘The Challenge,’ and he even claimed on Zach’s podcast that he’s received a call from MTV for “every single season” that he’s missed.
