Starcasm reported this week that Joshua Dial of Netflixās Tiger King docuseries is heading to court next month and the district attorney representing the state of Oklahoma in its charges against him will be none other than former Counting On star (and current son-in-law of Jim Bob Duggar) Derick Dillard.
As The Ashley previously reported, Derick was sworn in as a licensed attorney in the state of Arkansas in May 2022.
However, the husband of Jill Duggar is currently employed as an Assistant District Attorney with the State of Oklahoma (District 27) and is licensed to practice law in both Arkansas and Oklahoma.
As for Joshua, who appeared in multiple episodes of 2020ās āTiger Kingā as the friend and former campaign manager of Joe Exotic, has been charged by the State of Oklahoma on two counts of Domestic Abuse – Assault and Battery, and one count of Resisting An Officer, Starcasm reports.
Joshuaās bond for the misdemeanor-level charges was placed at $10,000 on August 15 and the following week, he had his initial appearance in court. The case was then set for Misdemeanor Disposition Docket on September 23, though Joshua failed to appear at the scheduled hearing and has now been ordered to return to court November 18, where Derick will be representing the State of Oklahoma in its charges against him.
One reality star who definitely wonāt be present for Joshuaās November hearing is Joe Exotic, who is currently serving a 22-year sentence in prison for his role in a 2017 murder-for-hire attempt to kill animal rights activist Carole Baskin, who also appeared in āTiger King.ā However, Joshua revealed in a 2020 interview that his friendship with Joe Exotic went extinct around the time of Joe Exotic’s sentencing.
āI have tried to move on and I have been successful so far,ā Joshua told Oxygen. āI was given a new life and a second chance when I met my fiancĆ©e; I have no desire to bring any of that pain into my life.ā

Iām not going to lieā¦ it makes me extremely uncomfortable that someone who has the harmful views that Derick has is an ADA. Is he capable of prosecuting a case without bias against someone who is gay or has a different faith?
Idk why the downvotes because this is a legit concern.
I don’t think Derrick really has extreme views (in my opinion) and I also think he’s smart enough to know that he’s in the public eye and will therefore probably try to be pretty by-the-book just to avoid accusations like that.
Just because somebody is a Conservative Christian doesn’t mean they’re out to get gay people or non-Christians. You can disagree with somebody’s views/lifestyle without hating them.
He honestly seems like a good guy and I’m proud of how he and Jill broke away from things. He actually loves and respects her and works hard to provide for his family.
He seemed pretty hateful to Jazz.

You may not agree with his views on transgenderism, but only somebody in complete denial would disagree with the sentiment of his statement. I watched a good bit of the show in order to form my own opinion on the situation, and Jazz 100% was being taken advantage of and even pushed by the mother. Putting a child on hormone blockers to prevent natural puberty and pumping them full of opposite-sex hormones is irresponsible and abusive. The mother came off as very pushy about these things and never really gave Jazz a chance to have a change of heart, especially once the show got started and Jazz became the face of “trans children.” Derrick recognized it as the child abuse it was and he was demonized for speaking out against it. He was never hateful towards Jazz that I know of, he was critical of the situation the child was put in by the parents and other adults. The fact that people were more upset by Derrick referring to a biological male with male pronouns than they were about children being used as science experiments is flabbergasting.
All he has to do is follow the criminal code of Oklahoma. Would you be concerned if he were say Muslim? Derrick has more than proven himself.
