Jax Taylor Makes Several Surprising Revelations in His Response to Wife Brittany Cartwright’s Divorce Filing; Agrees to Give Brittany Full Custody of Son Cruz

Cruz, secretly hoping there’s a third and better option in this scenario…

Jax Taylor agreed to give estranged wife Brittany Cartwright legal and physical custody of the couple’s three-year-old son Cruz in court documents filed last week in Los Angeles Superior Court.  The custody agreement was just one of the surprising revelations found in Jax’s response to Brittany’s recent divorce filing.

As The Ashley previously told you, Brittany filed for divorce from Jax in late August– nearly five years after The Valley couple tied the knot on Season 8 of Vanderpump Rules– citing “irreconcilable differences.” The news of the couple’s impending divorce came just six months after they announced their separation.

Last week, Jax filed a response (sans attorney) to Brittany’s divorce paperwork, agreeing with her claim of “irreconcilable differences” being the reason behind the pair’s split. Court documents posted to Reddit show that Jax also agreed to give Brittany both legal and physical custody of their son Cruz.

Jax also failed to make any requests regarding visitation with Cruz, despite Brittany proposing visitation in her divorce filing.

As for child support, Jax marked “other” but failed to specify the details. He also indicated that spousal support can be determined in the future. As The Ashley previously reported, Brittany did not make any mention of child support in the documents she filed, though she did request that the court prevent either party from seeking spousal support from the other.

Interestingly, Jax listed his and Brittany’s separation date as September 26– the date he filed his response– which conflicts with Brittany’s claim that she and Jax parted ways back in January.

Another interesting detail in Jax’s response was the box he checked under the section labeled “Legal Grounds,” which denotes “that the parties were never married or registered a domestic partnership.”

It’s unclear if Jax made this selection in error or if he is, in fact, suggesting that he and Brittany were never legally wed.

“Just because you wish it never happened, doesn’t make it true, Jax!”

While Jax revealed weeks ago that he had officially moved out of his and Brittany’s Valley Village home and is now living next door to fellow-divorcee Tom Schwartz, he listed “home” under “Separate Property” in his response.

Jax did not, however, include any mention of “his” bar, Jax’s Studio City, in the filing.

    1. I don’t think it’s fake either. I never really did. I think Brittany knew it was one thing to look like a pushover, but it’s another thing completely to look like a negligent mother by letting Jax walk all over her. And she probably got tired of doing it all, just like countless women out there

    1. This is just a thought but maybe Jax giving custody to the better parent aka the one capable of showing the extra physical attention the little boy needs is a SMALL method of showing he cares?
