Javi Marroquin and Lauren Comeau are engaged— and have been for a whole year!
The former Teen Mom 2 couple revealed on Thursday that they got engaged last year on October 16, but had kept the proposal a secret up until now.
In photos posted to Instagram, Javi (who is the ex-husband of ‘Teen Mom 2’ star Kail Lowry and the father of her son Lincoln) is shown getting down on one knee and proposing to Lauren (who is the father of Javi’s son Eli, as well as daughter Maizee, who was born in May.) The proposal took place at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas last year and was witnessed by Lincoln and Eli. In the comment section of the post, Lauren revealed that the proposal happened while she and her family were on a trip for Arbonne, the company she works for.

“We got engaged last year, one year ago yesterday,” Lauren wrote in the comment section of the post.
This is the second engagement for the couple. As ‘Teen Mom’ fans know, Lauren and Javi have had a long history full of break-ups, make-ups, a broken engagement and a cheating scandal. (As ‘Teen Mom 2’ fans know, Kail infamously threw Javi under the bus on ‘Teen Mom 2’ for inviting her to partake in some pumping at the WaWa that did not involve gasoline.) Javi and Lauren later became involved in a domestic dispute, with Javi calling the cops on Lauren in July 2021.
The couple gave their relationship another try a few years later, and, in June 2023 Javi sold his home and moved into Lauren’s home. Lauren and Javi announced that Lauren was pregnant right before Christmas last year.
The Ashley can reveal that Javi and Lauren are currently planning their wedding and are set to get hitched in June of 2025 in Delaware.
UPDATE! On Friday, Javi did an Instagram Q&A and revealed why he and Lauren waited so long to tell the public that they’re engaged. In his answer, he stated that he needed to work to rebuild his relationship with Lauren and her family.
“There’s something special about keeping a[n] intimate moment private,” he wrote. “I worked so hard to get to that point. I worked so hard to get my family back. I worked so hard to rebuild relationships with Lauren’s family… it was important for both of us to tell them privately and not share with the world before we told our loved ones.”
Javi also noted that he knew some people would have negative reactions to the engagement.
“I knew social media wouldn’t see all [that I’ve done to rebuild], and I wasn’t going to let them ruin such a special moment for my family. Just to name a few reasons, but it was a special day for everyone, and I can’t wait to marry the love of my life.”
Lauren also explained (in the comment section of their original post) why they have waited so long to get married following their 2023 engagement.
“I have decision paralysis and really despise/struggle at making decisions, and didn’t want to rush it,” Lauren wrote (assumingly about wedding planning). “Plus I was pregnant our entire engagement and didn’t want to try and fit into a dress postpartum.”
She also revealed that Javi originally wanted to propose to her during their trip to Italy, but did it in the Bahamas because the kids were there.
“He knew I wanted them there,” Lauren wrote. “…I’m glad he waited.”

I don’t understand how she can knowingly be his third choice, forgive him for repeatedly cheating on her, have two kids and two engagements with him. This will never be a happy family situation because he will always cheat.

They probably kept it quiet for so long in the event they needed to call off the engagement because he banged some other chick again, in a Wawa parking lot. LOL. That’s just my hunch.
Lmaooooo javi stop it. Embarrassing to even post about it given the past circumstances. Also I could have sworn they were already engaged or married. Nothing special these days tbh everyone treats getting engaged as something to do in every relationship

She’s an utter fool for marrying this man after he cheated on her repeatedly, including in their own home while she was in it. That’s a level of disrespect I could never get over. For her sake, I hope he’s changed. But, I doubt it.

She’s a desperate girl…she was his third choice. He cheated on her while she was upstairs sleeping with their newborn son….etc.

Engaged again? I’m not sure how she thinks this picture is going to be happy one filled with trust. He literally was banging some chick on the bathroom floor (wasn’t me😅Shaggy song forever stuck in my head) with Lauren IN the same house at the time! She walked in and caught him! He cheated multiple other times on her. Domestic violence on both sides. They both have filed for restraining orders against the other only to drop them very soon after. If you want to be in a dysfunctional relationship then have at it. But don’t make your kids live it with you. Does Lauren really want her boys to treat women the way Javi does?
