Josh Hall, the estranged husband of Christina Haack, took to social media on Wednesday to refute Christina and her attorney’s claims that he’s demanding that the HGTV star pay him $65,000 a month in spousal support.
As The Ashley previously told you, Christina and Josh both filed for divorce in July after less than three years of marriage and the couple’s split has been nasty. Earlier this month, Christina listed her Franklin, Tennessee, home on the market for $4.5 million, after which Josh– who had been living in the home since the couple’s split– responded by filing a temporary emergency order in court in an attempt to stop the Tennessee home from being sold.
According to Us Weekly, Christina filed legal documents with the Superior Court of California in Orange County last week that included details of a global settlement offer that was presented to her by Josh, which she went on to reject five days later. In her filing, Christina claimed that Josh’s “Good Faith settlement offer” requested that she pay him “$65,000 per month in spousal support” on their “2-year, 9 month marriage”– an offer Christina’s attorney, Matthew S. DeArmey, called “hardly good faith.”
“The court is familiar with offers labeled as ‘Good Faith’ settlement offers which are not, in fact, made in good faith,” Christina’s attorney claimed in his declaration. He went on to call Josh’s “Good Faith” settlement offer an unfair characterization, adding that Josh’s request was “outrageous.”
Christina’s legal team also mentioned an alleged luxury car purchase Josh recently made, claiming it proved that “he has no need for spousal support” from Christina. They also claimed Josh’s “Good Faith” settlement offer coincided with his recent legal filing regarding Christina selling her Tennessee home.
A spokesperson for Josh told Us Weekly that Christina’s recent court filing is “riddled with provably false statements,” arguing that Josh never requested $65,000 a month in spousal support from his estranged wife.
Josh took to social media on Wednesday to refute the claims himself, calling Christina’s attorney “unethical.”
“So now [DeArmey Law, APC] filed legal declarations riddled with lies and assumptions… interesting tactic for someone who is a licensed attorney and took an oath of integrity,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “Pretty sure making provably false statements to a judge is unethical.”
Christina alleges that her Tennessee home was an investment property that she allowed Josh to access when it was not being rented out. (Josh reportedly now lives full-time at his mother’s Tennessee home.)
Josh’s rep disputed Christina’s claims. In a statement to Us Weekly, Josh’s rep said the Tennessee home was never an investment property, but rather a “second home” for the couple.
“ … Nobody spends so much time at an ‘investment home’ that they must clarify why they’re often there. That makes zero sense,” the rep argued. “It’s sad that Christina’s team is so desperate to smear Josh that they can’t even make up logical lies. Josh continues to pray for Christina and hopes to resolve this matter more privately.”
Once finalized, this will be the third divorce for Christina. The Christina in the Country star was married to her Flip or Flop co-host Tarek El Moussa, with whom she shares two children, from 2009 to 2018. Shortly after the couple’s divorce was finalized, the Christina on the Coast star married Ant Anstead and the two welcomed a son together. Christina and Ant split in September 2020 and were officially divorced as of June 2021. Two months later, Christina announced that she was engaged to Josh.
As fans know, Josh and Christina were set to appear in a new HGTV series called The Flip-Off alongside Tarek and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. Shortly after Christina and Josh filed for divorce, however, it was announced that Josh had been cut from the show, which had just begun filming.
HGTV announced this week that a new season of ‘Christina in the Country’ will premiere next month. Josh has appeared with Christina on the show in the past, and served as a consulting producer for it in 2023. It is unknown what his role on the show will be going forward.

Women get applauded by other women for “getting their bag” after a divorce from wealthy men when they came in with nothing, so what is different here? She stays defaming him on social media stating it is her right; her page and she can do as she wishes. He has remained respectful and quiet. I hope he gets spousal support, half the proceeds of the marital home they shared that she still lives in and half the monies from the sale of the Tennessee home. Christina needs to be put in check instead of acting like teenager and spreading toxic femininity.
I think she’s still so messed up over the divorce with Tarek that she’s trying to fill that void. He’s off, seemingly happy with his new wife and family and she’s trying to find that love she once had. Doesn’t happen when marrying some rando after a few months of being divorced. Sad but it’s expected.
Again don’t marry a man who you met on ayahuasca. Especially after you JUST DIVORCED YOUR 2ND HUSBAND CHRISTINA!!!
How did she not know this guy was in it for the money and how do you go through 3 three husbands and three divorces in six years?? I think Josh is a deadbeat , but I think Christine has her share of issues that contribute to these atrocious marriages and divorces.
That’s the thing, there’s only one common denominator in these 3 divorces 😬
