Move Over Jax’s! Brittany Cartwright Confirms She’s Opening Her Own Bar in West Hollywood

“Jax’s? Never heard of it, y’all!”

Brittany Cartwright is going back to where it all started.

On Friday’s episode of her When Reality Hits podcast, The Valley star announced she’s opening a bar in West Hollywood with the same team that she and her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, opened his bar, Jax’s Studio City, last year.

“I’m going to have my own bar in West Hollywood, right across from where I started at SUR, TomTom is three doors down from me, it’s in the best location ever, it’s right next door to Rocco’s,” Brittany said, neglecting to mention that Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney’s Something About Her sandwich shop is also in the neighborhood.

Like Jax’s, Brittany’s bar isn’t a bar so much as one side of the existing restaurant/bar/nightclub Rocco’s that’s part-owned by friend and one-time wedding officiant Lance Bass. Construction starts soon on the bar, Britt’s, and is expected to be completed early next year.

Back in the summer, a few of Brittany’s friends/‘The Valley’ castmates Nia Sanchez, Kristen Doute and Zack Wickham created signage and swag for Britt’s, rebranding Jax’s for one night following the couple’s split.

Even though she’s getting her own spot, Brittany isn’t leaving Jax’s behind, just Jax.

“Jax’s is still very near-and-dear to me because I literally started that and I helped with so much of that,” she said.

Not anymore.

Brittany laid out the many things she’s done for the Studio City business on the podcast, but wisely left out changing her son’s diaper on its bar top. (Here’s hoping there’s a changing station at Britt’s.)

“I did a lot, I did a lot and a lot, a lot to help that place and I put Mamaw’s beer cheese on the menu, I did all the flowers, I helped decorate, I showed up when Jax couldn’t be there, I tried my hardest to keep everything going,” she said.

  1. Yikes. I hope it does well for her but statistically 1 in 3 do not survive the first year. She would have done well with a haircare line being her hair is thick and beautiful.
