Another baby is coming to The Valley!
Former Vanderpump Rules star Kristen Doute announced Tuesday that she and fiancé Luke Broderick are expecting their first child together, due to arrive in June 2025.
‘The Valley’ couple–- who got engaged in September while vacationing in Maui with some of their Bravo cast mates–- have been very open about wanting to start a family together. Sadly, Kristen shared on her podcast in November 2023 that she had suffered a miscarriage, calling the experience “f**king terrifying.” Kristen told listeners at the time that she and Luke planned to try again and that they were both “hopeful to have a very healthy pregnancy the next time around.”
In a new interview with People, the 41-year-old James Mae owner revealed that she and Luke began trying to conceive again early this year, and that they decided to meet with a fertility specialist this time around for “a little help.”
“I knew my age could be a factor in conceiving, so Luke and I discussed going for an extra push, a little help,” she explained. “In late summer, we decided to meet with a fertility specialist to learn about our options and what could be the next step if we decided to go that route.
“The next month was a whirlwind– getting educated on fertility, and eventually hormone shots and preparing my body for IUI (intrauterine insemination),” she continued.
Kristen praised her doctor, Dr. Carolyn Alexander at Southern California Reproductive Center, for helping to create her and Luke’s “little miracle.”
“The two weeks following the IUI procedure felt like years,” she recalled. “To get a correct outcome on a pregnancy test, two weeks time had to pass and I had to wait it out but in my heart I knew it had worked. I tested one day early and got the big PREGNANT result staring back at me.”
Kristen said she was “relieved, overwhelmed, happy, excited and nervous” to learn she was pregnant, adding that Luke was “SO happy” that IUI had worked the first time, as they were aware that it may not.
“He was joyous and beyond excited, to say the least!” Kristen said. “Our due date is in June and we are really looking forward to expanding our little family and becoming parents!”
Kristen’s baby news was met with many congratulations from former and current co-stars, including Stassi Schroeder, who commented, “Very happy for you, the greatest gift.”
Scheana Shay, who is slated to appear on Season 2 of ‘The Valley’ along with her husband Brock Davies, also congratulated the parents-to-be.
“Sooooooo happy for you!” Scheana wrote. “Congrats my love!”
(As fans of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ may remember, Scheana revealed in June 2020 that she had suffered a miscarriage. Four months later, she and Brock announced they were expecting again; the couple went on to welcome daughter Summer Moon Honey Davies in 2021.)
“I’m so happy for you and @luke__broderick,” Ariana Madix wrote on Kristen’s announcement. “You are going to be the best mommy there could ever be. I love you to the moon and back. It’s a joy to see you shine.”
“So incredible happy for you guys. Uncle Jesse reporting for duty!” Jesse Lally of ‘The Valley’ commented, to which Kristen replied, “@jesselally I’ve always wanted my baby to have an Uncle Jesse #fullhouse.”
“My baby is having a babyyyyyy I can’t wait to spoil this baby with so much love!” Brittany Cartwright added. “You’re going to be an amazing mother @kristendoute love you!!!! Congrats to you too daddyyyyy you’re both going to be great! @luke__broderick.”
Kristen later shared on her Instagram Story that Brittany already knows the gender of her baby, but that she and Luke have yet to find out themselves.
As The Ashley previously reported, Kristen and Luke hard-launched their relationship in December 2022, later revealing that they had met at a friend’s wedding in June of that year while serving as bridesmaid and groomsmen, respectively.
After announcing their engagement in September, Kristen told Us Weekly that she knew from the moment they met that Luke was her “person.”
