Over the last 10 years, Kail Lowry has churned out nearly as many books as she has kids, and now one of her baby daddies is taking his turn at being an author.
Chris Lopez— Kail’s third baby daddy and the father of her sons Lux and Creed— announced on Wednesday that he will soon be releasing a children’s book. As The Ashley previously reported, the Teen Mom 2 dad first revealed that he was writing a children’s book last month, and the book— entitled I Love You, Dad— is now available for pre-order.
“I’m so excited to share the cover of my new children’s book, I Love You, Dad,” Chris– who is also dad to son Trew from another relationship– wrote on Instagram. “This heartfelt story, inspired by my own life and my kids, celebrates the unbreakable bond between a father and his children. It’s perfect for kids ages 3-8 and anyone who cherishes family moments.”
On the book’s pre-order website, I Love You, Dad is described as “a heartwarming tale that celebrates the special bond between a father and his children. Through playful adventures, quiet moments, and simple acts of love, this story brings to life the everyday moments that mean the most. With vibrant illustrations and a gentle message of love, I Love You, Dad is a perfect read for kids and their dads to share together, reminding them both just how much they mean to each other.”
It will cost you $12.99 to get your mitts on Chris’ new book. However, on Instagram he is offering to sign the first 50 copies that are pre-ordered and include free coloring book pages.
While on TikTok Live in November, Chris revealed the high aspirations he has for his book.
“Maybe I’m getting a little carried away with 100 [sales], but I’m aiming for the moon, shooting for the stars out here,” he said. “[Selling] 100 [copies] ain’t a lot.”
During the same Live session in November, Chris— who, as ‘Teen Mom’ fans know has had a very publicly tumultuous relationship with Kail— also answered fans’ questions about his fatherhood journey, which began in 2017 when his son Lux was born. When one fan brought up the fact that it was odd for him to be writing a kids’ book about fatherhood, when, at one point, he tried to terminate his parental rights to Lux in court, Chris spoke about that incident.
(The Ashley broke the news in 2017, that Chris refused to sign an acknowledgement of paternity when Lux was born, causing Kail to restrict Chris legally from seeing his son. In 2019, Chris went to court and asked the judge to terminate his parental rights to Lux. The judge refused to do so, given that there was no one to step into Chris’ place and legally adopt Lux.)
During his Instagram Live session on Friday, Chris admitted he did try to sign over his rights to Lux and said that he now regrets it.
“I almost gave up my rights [to Lux] in 2018 or 2019, it was around that time. But the judge pulled me to side, even though she wasn’t supposed to, and explained [it] to me,” Chris said. “[She told me], ‘I understand you’re very hurt and frustrated but I can’t let you do this.’ and I’m very grateful she did that.
Chris said that Lux is aware of what happened, and that he told him so that Lux wouldn’t hear it from someone or read it somewhere and question him.
“I’ve already explained that to my son…I’ll be honest with my boys,” he said.
No specific release date has been listed for Chris’ book. Kail has yet to comment on her ex’s attempt at authoring.

Well, he clearly didn’t have an editor… or a real publisher. “I love you Dad” is missing something.
Also, is that blonde child supposed to be Creed?
LOL, Chris. Get a job.
It’s crazy when guys like him struggle to do the absolute bare minimum parenting and then write a book like this. Lmao He’s just trying to make money off all the Kailyn haters.
As a Janelle hater, I admit giving to David’s ex’s GoFundMe for legal funds to fight David. And I’m a-ok if she used surplus funds for new boobs. She’s raising David’s son without any help from him. And the outpouring of support to David’s ex made Lurch and Janelle seethe with anger which was fun to take part in.
I’m not fond of Kail, even though she’s not nearly as loathsome as Janelle. Chris thinks this book makes him a good dad. Nope. People don’t hate Kail enough to put money in the pocket of that lazy turd. At least she takes care of her kids.
I suppose I’d buy his book on fatherhood before Chris Watts’. That’s about all I have to say about that.
Best of luck with the new book.
Man needs to knock this off.
Sir, just go get therapy and some type of hobby, job, whatever. This isn’t it.
Of course he’s looking for easy money. It’s not like he’d want to get a real job or anything.
I take everything this guy says with a grain of salt. I’m not a big fan of kail
but this guy really sucks.
I don’t like Kail either, I find her grating.
But I will always defend that Kail LOVES her kids, and will do whatever takes for them.
Do I think she’s petty? Yes
Abusive to partners? She’s done some stuff.
Makes poor decisions? Oh yeah, her seven children from four different men (two of which are with Chris) is proof
But she’s the one-day in and day out raising those kids. I know she’s making sure they are loved and cared for and doing the daily bs.
Agreed… Kail sucks, but this guy….tried to terminate paternity of Lux because he didn’t want to raise them or pay child support. enough said. Yeah, instead of getting a job, he would rather sell stories about Kail. Instead of getting a job, he wants to do gofundme to get money to he can fight CS.
Go write your book about how great of a father you are. /s
I do have a soft spot for kail. After reading some of the horrible things Suzy did to her. She didn’t deserve it as a child/teen. I know what it’s like to be abused and my mother is a narcissist (dr confirmed.) I don’t think her kids ever have to wonder if she loves them. They are seemingly happy. She does make poor decisions, but she’s not a bum like amber or Janelle. She doesn’t use her childhood as a crutch either.
Kail has done what Leah has tried to claim she did with her girlses… she broke so many generation cycles, just in one generation.
Kail’s kids will never have to worry about…
* having an addict parent
* having an unstable home
*being kicked out of their home in favor of mom’s new bf
* being able to get to school
* having food
* being abused by mom’s bfs
* where mom is because she left 2 days ago and hasn’t come back
* feeling safe in their home
Now some of these are just innate that money solves a lot of problems. But also, we see some of these girls on TM, and they might be spending like no tomorrow. But Kail also hustles for her money, she’s doing all these podcasts, Now I don’t listen to any of them, but I heard she does well. She was making more than off that she didn’t need TM anymore. She’s doing her Sponcon. Even before the girls were making TM money, Kail was working multiple jobs. She was doing what she needed to.
Now Kail’s kids will have issues, the 4 fathers, men and children. The slew of friends in and out. The using your kids for money. There will be issues. But the core issues that Suzie did to Kail, will not happen to Kail’s kids.
Can he just not?
My 8 year old niece “authored” a “published” children’s book about her favorite stuffed animal. It is complete with computer-generated illustrations. Anyone can “publish” a children’s book these days. No spectacular accomplishment.
If Chris’s book were published by a legitimate publisher like Scholastic, then he might have some bragging rights. Highly doubtful that is the case, though.
Erm are those supposed to be his 3 sons?
He has two kids with her…what bullet did he dodge? Congratulate him when he gets a job to support his THREE CHILDREN and move out of his grandma’s basement 🥱
The only bullet he dodged is he didn’t knock up Amber or Janelle. Because they are just as crazy, but also don’t take care of their kids.
Or briana, since he alegedly slept with her.
Was that book written by AI? It certainly looks like it, basic and cheap
Oh dear God, I hope I can reserve a copy in time for Christmas! lMAO
Dick and Jane, run spot run. 😂
Definitely a Caldecott contender.
Congratulations, Chris, on your book. Man, you sure dodged a bullet getting away from the hoe K.L.
