Nick Viall is not holding back on giving his thoughts on James Kennedy‘s latest attempt at explaining away his recent arrest and disturbing behavior.
The podcaster and former Bachelor star absolutely ripped into James after the Vanderpump Rules posted his first message to fans following his arrest for domestic violence last week. As The Ashley previously reported, cops were called to James’ home on December 10 after a neighbor called 911 and reported a domestic disturbance. On scene, James’ live-in girlfriend Ally Lewber told police— according to the arrest report— that her “boyfriend lifted her up and threw her to the ground.”
On Tuesday, James posted a statement to Instagram Stories, vowing to make meaningful changes in” his life. He also claimed that he would be focusing on his “sobriety, personal growth, and being present for my loved ones.”
After James’ statement went public, Nick took to his The Viall Files podcast to skewer the recently employment-challenged James, stating he hopes James “never works again.”
“The piece of s**t loser that he is, James Kennedy, has issued a statement on his Instagram Stories that was set to expire for 24 hours,” Nick said. “This is an embarrassing statement by James.”
Nick went on to read James’ statement, stopping to inquire what “meaningful changes” James plans to make in his life.
“To what are you speaking about, James? Your physical abuse of women?” Nick asks, before calling out James for mentioning his “sobriety” in the message, seemingly as a way to use his drinking as an excuse for his alleged behavior.
“He’s blaming the alcohol. He’s a ‘victim of his addiction,'” Nick said. “I know a lot of people who drink. I know a lot of people who, sadly, struggle with drinking too much alcohol, many of which— well, all of them that I know— don’t beat their partners, or pick them up and throw them, or don’t have a history of situations like that.”
Nick then blasted James for vowing to “move forward.”
“Not an acknowledgement of how disgusting it is to hit or throw your partner,” he said.
He then called James “the weakest of the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ men.”
“James is a small human, individual, that clearly has a very large insecurity about who he is as a person, and is easily triggered,” Nick said. “And when he feels small, he takes it out on his girlfriend…”
“I would have liked to see James saying, ‘Hey, I want to come on here and acknowledge what…I’ve been ignoring: I’m an abuser of women,” Nick said. “I apologize not only to the current person I abused, but to all the people from my past that this must be a very triggering and difficult time, one of which is a pregnant woman right now.”
(As The Ashley previously reported, two of James’ former partners— his ex-fiancé Rachel Leviss and former girlfriend Kristen Doute— both came forward to speak about the violence they each say they suffered at James’ hand. The pregnant woman Nick was referring to is Kristen, who recently announced that she is expecting her first child.)
Nick went on to comment on the effort that has seemingly been made by others to keep James’ alleged history of domestic violence from becoming more public.
“It’s just shocking how much this has been swept under the rug. And it’s still being— where is Lisa Vanderpump? Lisa? It’s gross,” he said.
Nick’s wife Natalie Joy also slammed Lisa, Bravo and those involved in creating ‘Vanderpump Rules,’ stating that “all of them are at fault, the entire Bravo network for covering it up.”
Natalie went on to accuse those associated with the show of “editing” out scenes that made James look bad, while Nick pointed his attack on Lisa for staying quiet regarding James’ arrest and the claims of past abuse being made against him.
“It’s very easy to hold Lisa Vanderpump accountable,” Nick said, as his co-hosts stated that they feel Lisa has always protected the men on the show, at the expense of the women.
“I know Lisa Vanderpump is very close with James and I know Lisa Vanderpump has mentored and been like a second mother to James,” he said. “And I think she is complicit in this cover-up of James’ behavior. She’s in a position of power and for her to not say anything? I don’t want to put anyone else [from the show] under fire, because I don’t know what they knew or how close they were [to James]. But Lisa? I think it’s gross that Lisa hasn’t said anything.”
Since James’ arrest, photos have been taken of James helping Ally move her stuff out of their shared home. In addition, the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star has lost several important DJ gigs, including a Vegas residency that had been scheduled for January.
James and Lisa have not publicly responded to Nick’s comments.

I lost a lot of respect for Lisa with the way she babied James, Jax, Tom, Schwartz. He is right all of the toxic men were defended by her. James will never take accountability. Legally he would be dumb to because he essentially would be admitting the crime. Morally he should pull his head out of his ass and do exactly what Nick suggested. I can’t count how many times James has “focused on his sobriety and personal growth”. He has never actually done it.
