TLC Releases Premiere Date & First Trailer for Season 13 of ‘My 600-Lb. Life’: Watch a Sneak Peek

New year, new season of ‘My 600-Lb. Life.’

TLC is kicking off 2025 with a new season of My 600-Lb. Life.

The network announced Friday that Season 13 of the weight loss docuseries will premiere January 1, featuring a new cast of overweight individuals who are working to lose weight with the help of Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, aka Dr. Now, the Houston, Texas-based bariatric surgeon who has appeared on the series since its 2012 premiere.

As in past seasons of the TLC docuseries, the Season 13 sneak peek gives viewers a glimpse of some of the patients who will be appearing on the upcoming season, as well as some of the struggles the individuals will be opening up about on the show.

“I’ve been this way my whole life,” one of the Season 13 cast members says, with another telling viewers, “I’m trapped in this body.”

Fans also get to see Dr. Now having a heart to heart with one of his patients during an appointment.

“The changes are up to you,” Dr. Now tells the individual in the Season 13 sneak peek.

“It may be a new year, but I’m still going to remind everyone that there is no protein in mashed potato!”

As fans of ‘My 600-Lb. Life’ may know, the weight loss docuseries has faced multiple lawsuits in recent years and seen the death of more than a dozen former cast members. Despite this, the series has continued to air new seasons, with fans last catching up with Dr. Now on Season 12 of ‘My 600-Lb. Life,’ which premiered in February.

TLC’s announcement of the new ‘My 600-Lb. Life’ season comes just a week after it was revealed that a new series starring Dr. Now will be premiering on Lifetime next month.

As The Ashley reported last week, The 6000 Lb. Diaries with Dr. Now will follow a group of morbidly obese individuals who are ready to lose weight and change their lives.

“Reaching a combined weight of more than 6,000 pounds, and at an extreme breaking point, these individuals are turning to weight loss authority Dr. Now and his team of specialists to get life-changing bariatric surgery and acquire the tools they need to deal with emotional eating,” the show synopsis reads.

‘The 6000 Lb. Diaries with Dr. Now’ premieres January 6 on Lifetime; meanwhile, the new season of ‘My 600-Lb. Life’ premieres January 1 on TLC.
