Josh Hall was not happy about a new promo released by HGTV of his estranged ex Christina Haack‘s new show, The Flip Off, as the clip portrayed him in a not-so-favorable light. After Josh took to Instagram to rip the network for putting out “manufactured drama” about a “nobody” like him, Christina hopped on social media to respond to his posts, denying that the “drama” was made up.

As The Ashley previously reported, Josh and Christina— who are in the middle of a nasty divorce— were supposed to appear on the new competition series together. (They were going to compete against Christina’s ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather.) However, shortly after the show began filming, Christina and Josh both filed for divorce. In July, it was announced that Josh had been cut from the show.

HGTV’s decision to air some of the footage Josh filmed for the show– specifically a scene in which Josh tells his wife he wishes she’d shut up–did not go over well with Josh.

“[That feeling when] you can’t get enough ratings with celebrity [home] designers, so you rely on manufactured drama with me, a nobody,” Josh wrote on Instagram Stories. “@HGTV you’ve changed.” 

Christina— never one to shy away from fighting with an ex on The Interwebs— decided to set the record straight, insisting in her own post to Instagram Stories that the drama shown in the clip was not created for ratings. She reposted Josh’s post and added her own caption.

“Manufactured?! Pretty sure no one at HGTV told you to be rude to me,” she wrote. “That was all natural.” 

She then posted a photo of herself crying (as you do), which she stated was the aftermath of a real argument with Josh that occurred in June.

“This was taken June 21, 2024,” she wrote. “After one of my shoots with Josh. This is ‘real’ and a reminder to myself that I deserve better.”

‘The Flip Off’ premieres January 29, but several clips of the show have already been released that paint Josh in a negative light. Last month, a sneak peek showed Christina coming to Tarek upset, revealing that she and Josh had “officially split up.”

“We had a blow up,” Christina explains to Tarek in the clip. “Middle fingers in my face. Things with Josh have been bad for a long time.”

Christina went on to reveal in that clip that her children were privy to her and Josh’s marriage woes– so much in fact, that they allegedly told their mom that they wanted her to get out of the relationship. 

“The kids literally asked me to leave,” Christina told Tarek in the clip. “They told me he’s not nice to me. Why would I stick around? I feel like I’m in a tornado all the time and I just can’t get out of it.”
