On Sunday’s episode of Sister Wives, viewers watched (again) as Christine Brown and David Woolley said “I do” in a celebration attended by the couple’s family and close friends. While the pair’s loved ones were undoubtedly excited to watch them tie the knot, viewers were reminded that not everyone was initially on-board with the union.
As Christine and others were getting glammed up for the Moab, Utah, wedding during Sunday’s episode, Ysabel Brown– daughter of Christine and ex-husband Kody Brown– revealed to viewers that she was initially hesitant about the marriage, due to how fast her mom’s relationship with David had progressed.
“When David first proposed to my mom, I thought it was very soon. I thought it was too soon,” she admitted. “But I think I’ve had time to, like, adjust to it.”
Ysabel also reflected on the moment she knew David was “the one” for her mom.
“We were out of town and he looked at you and he was like, ‘Oh, I love you so much,’” Ysabel told her mom. “Like, just honest and pure. And I’ve never heard somebody say, ‘I love you’ that much to you.”
As fans of ‘Sister Wives’ know, Christine let Kody in 2021. She and Kody jointly announced in November 2021 that they were ending their spiritual marriage after 25 years, during which they welcomed six children together.
Christine went on to debut her relationship with David in February 2023, with the couple getting engaged just two months later and tying the knot in October 2023.
Despite Christine and David’s relationship seemingly being on the fast track, Ysabel shared on Sunday’s episode that, in the time between her mom’s engagement and wedding day, it became clearer to her how much her mom and David love each other.
“I’m just excited and happy for them” she said, later referring to her new stepdad as “a really awesome guy.”
“I couldn’t imagine life without him,” Ysabel added.
Fans watched earlier this season as Ysabel spoke to Christine about the reservations she had due to how quickly Christine and David’s relationship was moving, telling her mom she approved of David, while also acknowledging all of the changes that were happening.
Ysabel also opened up to her mom this season about her concerns that David may try to replace Kody, who is estranged from many of his children. Christine reassured her daughter that David would never try to take her father’s place, but that David would be “whatever” she needed.
“ … I’ve always wanted you guys to have a great relationship with your dad. A great one,” Christine said. “So, David coming in, all that does is [give you] someone else to love. But replacing [your] dad? No.”
Still, Ysabel later admitted that she feared her own connection with David would ultimately have a negative impact on her relationship with Kody. She also complimented David’s relationship with his own children, revealing that she wished she had the same connection with Kody.
“David, he comes off as, like, a very present dad with his children,” Ysabel said. “So, I mean, how lovely would that be, right? I would love to have a relationship that is as amazing with my own father.”

I mean… we’ve seen what Christine knew as “love” and relationships. Even her courtship and wedding weren’t really… you know.
He’s been through some traumatic and painful shit… It wasn’t really surprising when they started to fall for each other they got swept up fast.
I remember seeing it and not being surprised, or even shocked. Though, I felt kinda hesitant. It’s too easy for all three women to get swept up in the wrong relationship. But, he seems even-keeled, affectionate, involved, and supportive. Not at all what Kody is. They really do seem like a decent match. It’s kinda awkward to watch, I’m not really a fan, but, also, I’m really happy for her. Let them all get the happiness and uncomplicated love they deserve.
Why do these people feel like they have to share every thought and feeling with the world?
Christine is cringey
Since the pandemic, and the “rules” he put forth, I absolutely cannot stomach Kody. He was horrible to anyone who wasn’t Robin or her kids, and the behavior has only gotten worse.
Kudos to Christine for moving on, but her wedding and reception were very cringy, with her constantly dry humping David, or trying to eat his mouth off. Everyone who spoke on camera said how out of character it was for Christine. No excuse, but David did say she had quite a bit to drink.
I think Christine was in the shadows for so long, she’s developing an addiction (like Kody’s) to being front and center, but it’s starting to become too much. Maybe now that the wedding is over, she’ll calm down
Ysabel’s comments regarding her lack of a strong relationship with Kody are heartbreaking. I sincerely hope he reads them and realizes what an a** he has been to his own children and changes his ways, but we all know that is never going to happen. As a parent, I can not comprehend how he can just walk away from his children without a second thought. It blows my mind.
