‘Sister Wives’ Preview: Meri & Janelle Brown Join Forces to Fight Kody Brown Over Family’s Coyote Pass Property

“See you in court, Curly Q!”

Janelle and Meri Brown are teaming up to fight their ex-husband Kody Brown for their portion of the family’s land!

In the sneak peek clip of Sunday’s episode, Janelle clarifies that, while she and her former sister wife Meri aren’t galpals, they are willing to put their differences aside in order to keep Kody (and his only remaining wife Robyn) from screwing them out of their portion of the family’s Coyote Pass property.

“Meri and I, weren’t not friends, we don’t hang out, but there is now communication about what we need to do as far as the property,” Janelle tells the camera.

Janelle is later shown videochatting with Meri and declaring that she is not going to allow Kody to swindle her out of what she feels is rightfully hers in regard to Coyote Pass.

“I think it’s time for someone to be pushing my interest,” Janelle tells Meri. “I have to fight for what’s mine!”

“We can do this fight in court or box it out on Coyote Pass. Choice is yours, Kodster.”

As longtime ‘Sister Wives’ fans know, the Browns purchased the property in Flagstaff, Arizona, in 2018. At the time, Kody dreamed of having all of his wives and kids living in one, giant house– something (nearly) all of his wives shot down immediately. The family then planned to build each wife a house (plus a “Ken Dojo Mojo Casa House” for Kody to man-around and play with his hair in without being pestered by a wife). That plan also failed harder than Kody’s attempt at keeping his curly locks.

Over the course of Season 19, Coyote Pass has been a main topic of discussion, with Kody and Robyn trying to figure out how to screw Janelle and Meri out of their property what to do with the family’s land. In a previous episode, Kody admitted that would absolutely do Janelle dirty in regard to the property, if it weren’t for Robyn’s protests. Meri recently stated that she was told by Kody that she wasn’t “entitled” to an equal share of the property— despite the fact that she had helped pay for it— because she only has one child.

In the new clip of Sunday’s episode, Meri acknowledged that she let Kody treat her unfairly for many years of their marriage, which they officially (and finally) “terminated” in January 2023. However, she says she’s no longer going to allow Kody to make the decisions for her.

“I don’t think [Kody] gets to decide!” an angry Meri tells Janelle before slamming a principle from their polygamous lifestyle.

“Sorry [Kody], you are not the ‘head’ of my family!” Meri declares.

“Kody’s version of ‘fair’ always ends with Robyn getting everything and me getting told to ‘look at the mountains.’ I’m DONE!”

During last week’s episode, Kody met with a real estate agent to discuss the future of Coyote Pass. At one point, Kody told the agent that, when they sell the property, he plans to divide the money “four ways.” (We can assume he meant that he would divide that money between himself, Robyn, Meri and Janelle. As The Ashley previously reported, Kody’s other ex-wife Christine sold her portion of Coyote Pass to Kody and Robyn for $10 after she split from Kody in 2021.)

During last week’s episode, Kody made it clear that he believed that it would be up to him as to how that money from the land’s sale would be divided.

“I think [my exes] are worried about whether I’m going to be fair or not,” Kody said with a chuckle.

“They’re just women. What do they know about money and real estate and whatnot?”

Kody’s exes have since hired lawyers to fight for their fair share of the property.

‘Sister Wives’ airs Sundays on TLC.

  1. It amazes me that it has taken Meri as long as it has to come to her senses. Kody has treated her like crap for years and Robyn has constantly encouraged Meri not to give up. It is plain to see that Robyn has gotten off on Meri’s pain. Robyn and her insane “core” family is absolutely stupid. Like all the other kids Kody made with Meri, Janelle and Christine mean nothing. Meri may detest Janelle but Janelle has done her a great favor telling her Kody and Robyn will screw her given the chance. They have for years. The property needs to be sold and the money divided fairly. And divide it between Kody, Meri and Janelle. Robyn got her damn huge house. Kody deserves nothing for being a monster and completely heartless, especially to the rest of his kids. I never did understand what those women ever saw in him.

    1. i feel like that’s how cults work and how brainwashing goes, you get your moment of clarity and then you find your inner strength once your out in the real world away from the constant mind control and surround yourself with people who help give you clarity!

  2. Good!!! I’m no fan of any of them really but Sobbyn and Krazy Kody obviously are shit people so I hope the other ladies take them for everything they can!

  3. I hope they win in court. Kody thinks he is slick but he is in for a rude awakening. Meri and Janelle need to stick to their guns on this and don’t back down for any reason. Now that they have attorneys,,,,, they don’t need to communicate with cry baby Robyn and **shole Kody.

  4. I’m looking forward to this episode.

I hope Meri will apologize and thank Janelle for the kindness she extended by warning her that she would likely be screwed over by Kody and Robyn.

      1. I thought she was pretty cold to Janelle when she went over to tell she should look out for your own interests. Maybe an apology isn’t really needed but a thank you is definitely overdue!

  5. And yet, Scrotty never acknowledges how much money he bilked from Meri and Janelle out of over the years to support “the family”. How much money did Scrotty contribute towards Eyebrows’ debt, the down payment for the manse and the nanny? His ego knows no bounds. They should have hired lawyers along time ago.

  6. I think it’s crazy how Kody uses the only having one child thing against Meri when it comes to her receiving things (like the property), but when it comes to her putting in money into the family, Kody pulls the “we all have 18 kids” card. Which is it? He can’t have it both ways.

  7. Who woulda thunk it? Meri & Janelle hated each other’s guts for 3 decades, but here they are coming together, all because of Kody being a royal a-hole. It all comes full circle with these crazy kids. 😉

  8. I totally knew that Jenelle would fight and I’m pleasantly surprised that Meri has finally stopped drinking the Kody and Robyn kool-aid. From what I recall Jenelle made more money than any of the other wives. Of course all of their money went into a “family account” that seems to have benefited Kody, Robyn and the select kids Kody chooses to pretend to be a Dad to.

I am loving the fact that Jenelle gets to realize her flower garden dreams on many acres. That Meri is back in Utah carrying on her mom’s legacy. That Christine has found love. On the other hand…Kody seems to be losing more hair and his hairline is receding towards the middle of his thick skull. And Robyn is still making VERY questionable choices with those eyebrows. All’s well that ends well.
