Carl Radke lost more than a fiancee when he ended his engagement to Lindsay Hubbard in 2023, revealing this week on The Viall Files podcast that calling off the nuptials ultimately cost him around $150,000.
As The Ashley previously told you, the Summer House stars were slated to marry in November 2023 before Carl ended up calling off the wedding in August of that year, just months before the pair’s planned wedding ceremony in Mexico.
Carl revealed to podcast host Nick Viall this week that while he knew it was the right decision to end things before he and Lindsay walked down the aisle, the last minute move proved to be a costly one.
“The amount of money we invested in all of,” Carl explained, as reported by People. “I missed the cancellation for our wedding to get a full refund by seven days. I wasn’t thinking about canceling anything other than trying to get on the same page with [Lindsay]. Had I been about seven days sooner, I would have saved around $150,000.
“But that wasn’t in my brain,” he continued. “I was just trying to land the plane with her.”
Carl noted that his failure to call off the wedding sooner not only cost him “a ton of money,” but also “pain and misery.”
Carl hinted that he also may have missed out on some money-making opportunities immediately following the split because he chose not to publicly share his side of the story. Carl claims that while he had prepared statements to release amid the breakup and “had planned podcast interviews,” he ultimately decided it wasn’t the right time to speak out about what happened.
“It felt, to me, as a male getting a public platform and trying to defend myself, it just didn’t feel right, even though I felt like I did what I think you do is right, which is, if it’s not right to move forward with the wedding, you don’t,” he explained.
“I didn’t want to be that guy that stood up there and [knew] it wasn’t right,” Carl added.
While Carl claims to have suffered a financial loss as a result of his and Lindsay’s split, Lindsay inadvertently profited off of the breakup, both personally and financially.
As The Ashley previously reported, shortly after Carl ended his relationship with Lindsay, the Hubb House founder reconnected with former fling Turner Kufe and in December, the two welcomed their first child, daughter Gemma Britt Kufe.
Lindsay revealed on the Trading Secrets podcast in late 2024 that monetizing her pregnancy announcement in July through a sponsored post with Clearblue helped her to earn more than $100,000 in social media brand deals for the year.
“People were very torn up about this,” Lindsay told podcast host Jason Tartick. “ … They were like, ‘I can’t believe she monetized her pregnancy announcement.’ And it’s like, why not? I’m gonna make the announcement anyway. Why not make money from it?”
Lindsay said the Clearblue spon-con was “the biggest deal” she ever nabbed, later noting that it “tied another deal” she had scored in spring 2024.
As for Carl, he revealed this week on ‘The Viall Files’ that he is currently “very single.”

they both seem like…difficult people. definitely for the best that they called it off, despite the financial hit.

I live in SE Mn and this amount for a wedding is unheard of.
Although, my childhood friend married Troy Link..yes, jack links. She said people would “talk” about her if she didn’t spend a certain amount for her dress. Totally ridiculous.
Well he is the one that refuses to be honest and cancel before the money was spent.
Lesson learned and it was a costly one.
