Lauren Shortt is leaving Selling The OC for a new business venture, but the reality TV star says she’s not leaving behind the friendships she made while at The Oppenheim Group.
Lauren announced on Monday that she is leaving The Oppenheim Group and that she will not appear on the upcoming fourth season of ‘Selling The OC.’ In an interview with The Ashley, Lauren revealed more details about her exit from the Netflix show, as well as her plans for the future with her new business partner Cindi Karamzadeh.
“Leaving ‘Selling The OC’ and The Oppenheim Group has been something I’ve thought about for a while, so for those who know me well, this probably isn’t a huge surprise,” Lauren told The Ashley. “I take my career seriously, and this wasn’t a decision I made lightly. That said, being on the show was such an epic experience, and I’ve made some real, lifelong friendships—like, [my co-star] Polly [Brindle] literally spent Christmas with me and my family!”
Lauren said that, despite leaving the company, she and owner Jason Oppenheim have no beef.
“Jason and I are on great terms, and I’ll always be grateful for everything he’s done for me and the opportunities I had with the group,” she said.
On Monday, Lauren announced via a joint Instagram post with Cindi that they will be going into business together in Orange County, California.
““Introducing Cindi + Lauren! Top-producing agents @cindi.b.karamzadeh and @thelaurenshortt have officially joined forces, bringing a fresh, multi-faceted approach to the luxury real estate market,” the post read. “With a combined $300 million+ in sales, they offer a seamless blend of real estate expertise, interior design, and innovative marketing—creating the ultimate home-everything team. Cindi, an established realtor, is recognized for residential design builds and being a top-performing realtor year over year. From high-end home enhancements to full-scale renovations and flips, Cindi specializes in maximizing property value.
“Lauren, known for her role on Netflix’s ‘Selling The OC,’ is a go-to agent for high-profile clientele, leveraging her unique platform and cutting-edge marketing strategies to maximize property visibility.”
Several of Lauren’s ‘Selling The OC’ co-stars congratulated her in the post’s comment section, including Jason, who posted several applause emojis.
“Thank you for all your support,” Lauren responded. “Appreciate you!”
Lauren told The Ashley that she has big plans for her new venture, and she hopes ‘Selling The OC’ fans will follow along.
“I’m SO excited for this ‘new season’ of life, if you will, with my business partner, Cindi Karamzadeh,” Lauren said. “We complement each other perfectly, and I have no doubt we’re about to make waves in the industry. Just because I won’t be on-screen anymore doesn’t mean you won’t be seeing a lot more from me—so stay tuned!”
Cindi– who hasn’t appeared on ‘Selling The OC’—praised Lauren for her career accomplishments, particularly her extensive background in marketing and her experience with dealing with high-net-worth clients.
“I am truly excited to partner with Lauren, a longtime friend and an accomplished professional in the industry,” she said.
Lauren and Cindi will be working with the Compass real estate firm.
As The Ashley previously reported, Netflix recently renewed ‘Selling the OC’ for a fourth season. The new season is currently filming, but no airdate has been announced yet.
