“Welcome to Plathville” Star Lydia Plath Marries Zac Wyse After Two-Month Engagement

“We’re hitched!”

Lydia Plath is a married woman!

Two months after getting engaged, the Welcome to Plathville star married Zac Wyse married Saturday at her family’s Georgia farm, the couple announced on social media and in an exclusive People article.

“The Wyse family, est: 2~22~25,” Lydia posted on Instagram. Lydia’s older sister Moriah replied, “The most beautiful bride love you both and welcome to the family Zac!”

According to People, 115 guests were in attendance at the outdoor ceremony, including Lydia’s parents and all of her siblings (even oldest sister Hosanna, who doesn’t appear on the family’s TV show and wasn’t in the pictures posted on social media).

The couple exchanged their own vows and shared their first kiss during the ceremony.

“The discipline it has taken to save our first kiss for the wedding day is an example of the commitment we have for each other going into our marriage,” Zac told People.

“I put in some serious hours in the prayer closet asking for this! Pucker up, baby!”

For the young couple, who began dating last summer, the wedding provided a chance to bring their families together.

“We both were so excited to see our people come together,” Zac, who is from Colorado, told People. “For both sides it would be their first time meeting one another so it’s great to see the union of not only Lydia and I, but our closest friends and family as well.”

Family was a major theme for the wedding, in classic and surprising ways. Lydia’s siblings served in the wedding party, and she and Barry did the traditional father-daughter dance. The couple’s cake was topped with the same topper as the bride’s now-divorced parents used at their wedding.

The gang’s all here! (*except Hosanna)

“A weekend filled with laughter, tears, smiles, hugs, and pure joy as I stood by my sister on her special day,” Moriah wrote on Instagram. “I love you so much Lydia Joy and I’m lucky to call you my sister! Welcome to the family Zac! I’m excited to see what the future holds for the both of you!”

TLC, which has aired ‘Welcome to Plathville’ since 2019, posted a video of the couple on Instagram filmed shortly after the ceremony and directed followers to its website for more from the wedding, though at press time only photos from Lydia and Zac’s engagement were on the site.

The newlyweds will start their lives together in Tallahassee, Florida, according to People, which is near where Lydia’s mom Kim and youngest siblings now reside.

  1. Congratulations Lydia & Zac ! From one Canadian couple ( Regina, Sk) who have been married 40 yrs & in July it will be 41yrs ! We know Lydia has been ver consistent on tv so we trust you’ll both have a long happy marriage w/Chrusf being your anchor in the center no matter what comes your way including times of boredom. Enjoy discovering each other b/c humans never stay stagnant but their core values do unless mental health causes a shift. May our Lord Blwss & Keep you until eternity w/Him forever !

  2. Look at my adorable Micah on the end in the group shot.

Moriah looks like Morticia. That black hair doesn’t suit her.

    1. Micah is in his “I think I’m Ryan Gosling” phase (he’s not)
Moriah is in her goth phase and it’s really not cute

      1. I totally see what you mean! I hope someone becomes a friend to both & helps them discover their true styles & for the make-up to be done more professionally for Moriah. She’s very creative so it’s time to recreate what works w/her music style. She’ll get there but remember a lot of what we see happens almost a yr prior to us seeing it. The wedding photo is closer to real time so I wish she & Mucah would’ve rethought their personal style for their sister’s sake who will see it constantly for her 1st yrs of marriage, lol !

  3. Yep, just what these extremists want, people getting married before they actually get to know the person, then getting pregnant right away, to trap them, so once they learn they aren’t compatible or worse dangerous, they feel stuck. And of course they don’t believe in divorce, just stay with the person.

It’s like she didn’t learn a single thing from Ethan and Olivia. At least Olivia was smart enough to use BC. Thank god those two didn’t ruin innocent children’s lives.

  4. As someone who married someone quickly at that age, Oof. Your brain isn’t even fully developed and there’s so many changes that happen. You can’t possibly know each other well enough in that amount of time. Not saying it can’t work, but damn, that’s a bad idea most of the time.

And yeah, I got divorced 🙃

      1. Good for you! When it’s right, it’s right. All the time in the world doesn’t change that.

Not saying Lydia made a good move, I have no idea. But I wish her luck!

      2. Cool. That’s why I said it can work. Your success story doesn’t negate that it’s usually a stupid idea to make what is supposed to be a lifelong commitment before your brain is developed and you’ve known the person for 6 months.

        1. What might be stupid for you is not stupid for everyone. Try not to generalize the world by your subjective experiences. You could encourage someone to miss out on something great!

  5. Can not stand her, came across as so fake, definitely as hell. now we can hope she rides off in to the sunset never to be heard from again and take Moriah with her. I HATE PHONY PEOPLE.

    1. I’m just gonna say it. It’s about control. Control the parents inflict on their children, mind you, that they aren’t even allowed to kiss their spouse until saying ‘I do’ so that at least that part of their life they can control. It’s disgusting how much manipulation goes into this (and yes, Duggars are the worst offenders) What if he is a bad kisser? You literally can’t tell until you make this giant step by marrying the person. I am sure they used ‘chaperones’ too. It’s just….ffs, just date normally, run wild and if you want to marry, good for you. Don’t do this,

    1. Will she make a new prayer closet in her new house?
Maybe she will dedicate a entire room for her prayer closet. That would be nice for her.
      Or a Prayer Shed.
