‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Star Mayci Neeley Announces Memoir “Told You So” Coming This Fall: Get Details

MomTok is coming to BookTok…

Mayci Neeley of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is releasing a memoir, Told You So, that will share the 30-year-old’s story from the beginning– well beyond the world of MomTok.

While fans of ’Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ got to meet Mayci during Season 1 of the Hulu series, the show only “scratched the surface” on her personal story, according to the book’s publisher, Simon & Schuster.

“From becoming a mom at 20, to losing her son’s father in a tragic car accident, to going back to college as a single mother, she’s only ever given us glimpses of the challenging things she’s been through,” the book synopsis reads. “Now, finally, she’s ready to tell us everything.”

Mayci’s ‘Secret Life’ isn’t going to be a secret for long…

Told You So is described as an “inspiring and darkly funny memoir,” in which Mayci will not only open up about her Mormon upbringing, but also how strict standards in the religion “completely blow up” for many young people when they go off to college, including Mayci herself, who attended Brigham Young University (BYU) on a tennis scholarship where she was met with temptations that she was unprepared to handle.

“She found herself drinking too much, stuck in an abusive relationship, and on the verge of falling down a dark and dangerous path,” according to Simon & Schuster.

Readers will also learn more about Mayci becoming pregnant with her first child at age 19, giving birth at 20 and tragically losing her child’s father.

Told You So will also detail how Mayci was able to find love again with husband Jacob Neeley, as well as her struggles with IVF. (Mayci announced a few weeks ago that she is currently expecting her third child.)

Fans of ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ can also look forward to learning the inside story of MomTok, according to People, including a “play-by-play on the friend group drama.”

Mayci took to Instagram on Thursday to share the cover of her upcoming memoir, telling fans she was “feeling so emotional.”

“This has been my dream & goal for 10 years now,” she wrote. “Feeling so grateful. Excited to tell you my story in detail.”

Mayci explained to People that she fell in love with writing years ago after her dad gave her a diary at a time when she was going through “the hardest trials of my life.”

“He told me to write everything down– the good, the bad and the ugly,” she said. “He told me that maybe one day I could use it to help someone else. That’s exactly what I did, and I fell in love with writing. It became my passion.”

Told You So will be released October 7, and is currently available for preorder using The Ashley’s Amazon Associates link by clicking here!

  1. It sounds like Mayci’s been through a lot. I hope she gets a good ghost writer and the book isn’t just a cash grab. Hopefully there’s some reflection.

  2. I love SLOMW, and her story is more interesting than most. But a memoir in your 20s after 1 season seems crazy to me!
