Overboard for Love (working title), a “truly unique dating show,” is coming to Hulu, presented by Alex Cooper of Call Her Daddy podcast fame.
“ … step aboard the ultimate luxury yacht, where sexy singles are ready to mix and mingle … and find love,” the logline for the reality show reads. “But there’s a twist … gaining access to the yacht’s extravagant amenities won’t be so simple.
“As the journey unfolds, romance ignites; alliances form; and hearts are shattered,” the logline continues. “In the end, only one couple will reign supreme. Who will rise to the top and who will be left stranded?”
‘Overboard for Love’ will be produced by Alex’s production company, Unwell Productions, along with Jeff Jenkins Productions (the company behind Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives) in association with 3BMG and Walt Disney Television Alternative. Alex will also serve as executive producer of the unscripted series alongside her Hollywood producer husband, Matt Kaplan, and Mina Lefevre of Unwell Productions and others.
‘Overboard for Love’ will be the first unscripted series for Unwell Productions, and Alex says she “couldn’t be more excited” to see the show come to life with Hulu.
“This project marks a major milestone for us, perfectly reflecting our vision of creating bold, unfiltered content that pushes boundaries,” the 30-year-old podcast host said in a statement. “We’ve designed a truly unique dating show, and I can’t wait for viewers to see what Unwell is capable of.”
Rob Mills, executive vice president of Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment for Walt Disney Television, said he’s excited to be working with Alex as well, calling her a “trailblazer.”
“I’m incredibly excited to be collaborating with Alex and the team at Unwell Productions on their first television project,” Rob said. “Alex is a trailblazer who is undoubtedly shaping the future of entertainment, and this is only the beginning of an exciting journey as we welcome her to the family.”
Alex launched the Unwell Network in 2023 and a year later, she signed with SiriusXM to expand the network’s long-form podcast offerings, according to People.
A premiere date for ‘Overboard for Love’ has yet to be announced.
