The new season of 1000-lb. Sisters premieres next month, but it appears that the Slaton Sisters have a lot going on in their lives that didn’t make the Season 7 trailer!
While the trailer was wild— showing Amy Slaton having her hand bit by a wayward camel and getting arrested with her new boo, as well as Tammy Slaton sneaking off to participate in some mystery hijinks– it didn’t show that the TLC stars are both apparently secretly engaged to be married!
During an appearance on the YouTube show LOLCowLive earlier this month, Tammy and Amy quietly admitted that they are both getting married. Although the confession was almost surely against their TLC show contracts, both sisters were happy to share more details about their upcoming weddings…and the details were weird.

Tammy was the first of the Slaton sisters to reveal she’s engaged. When the YouTube channel’s hosts asked Tammy about her taste in men, Tammy stated, “I’m gay,” and then revealed that she’s engaged to a woman. (Tammy has been open about her sexuality, initially identifying as “pan sexual.” However, in January 2024 she said that she was leaning toward being with women, following the 2023 death of her husband Caleb Willingham.)
This is the first time that Tammy has publicly admitted to being in a relationship with a woman. Although she didn’t reveal her fiancée’s name, she did reveal that her bride-to-be is child-free.
“I’m getting married to a girl!” Tammy said. “…My fiancée has not got kids, but she’s got a cat.”
(During the Season 7 trailer, it was revealed that Tammy had been sneaking off frequently, but hadn’t told her family where she was going. The Ashley suspects it will be revealed that Tammy’s secret rendezvous were to meet up with the woman who has become her fiancée.)

She then gave the hosts some details about the wedding she’s planning, revealing that she and her future Mrs. are planning to get hitched at a haunted former tuberculosis hospital.
As you do…
“We’re goin’ to Waverly Hills,” Tammy said, naming a tuberculosis sanatorium that closed in 1961, but is now a museum that does ghost tours, due to the property’s high level of paranormal activity.
(The Ashley checked the Waverly Hills website, and it appears the sanatorium does do private events/tours, although the website does not specifically mention weddings.)

Tammy then announced that, “Amy’s got a wedding too!”
The hosts turned their attention to Amy, who confirmed that she’s also getting married, and that the wedding will take place on Halloween. (We can assume it’s October 31 of 2025, but Amy didn’t confirm that it’s happening this year.)
“I’m getting married to a guy!” Amy joyfully revealed.

As The Ashley previously reported, the “1000-lb. Sisters” Season 7 trailer revealed that Amy has been seeing a new man. In fact, she was with her new boo, Brian Lovvorn, back in September when she got arrested for drug possession and child endangerment after getting bit by a camel at a Tennessee safari park. Amy and Brian were both treated to “his and hers” handcuffs and hauled off to jail together.
Viewers will get to meet Brian during the upcoming new season of the show, which will also showcase Amy and Brian contemplating having a baby together. (Amy had her tubes tied after giving birth to her second son; however, in the trailer, she tells her sister that she’s thinking about having the procedure reversed so that she and Brian can have a baby together.)

Luckily, though, Tammy confirmed that Amy’s impregnation has not happened… at least, not yet.
“None of us is pregnant!” Tammy said, after being asked if she is currently “with child.”

Amy— who has been divorced from her first husband (and baby daddy) Michael Halterman since 2023— opened up about that marriage, stating that the show’s fans didn’t get to see much of what was happening with them behind the scenes.
(H/T to the @AccordingToAmber1 Instagram account for being the first to reveal that the Slatons had made the announcements on the YouTube show.)

I live close to Waverly Hills and know a lot of people that have went there. I myself have no interest in going. Try not to judge them. They have always been a little different, so support them instead of judging.
Amy needs to learn to be alone & love herself first, most of her relationships don’t work or fall apart due to her jumping into them too quickly or not taking the time to really get to know someone, she tends to bring them around her children far too quickly as well which is confusing for kids.
Cycles always repeat themselves.
What could go wrong? Lol.
Amy has disappointed me. I hate when women with kids jump into new relationships and families. They’ve been divorced for years but still, those kids are small and the whole thing seems weird
You’re the biggest disappointment with that attitude. So she’s supposed to stay single until the kids are grown up? Don’t tell me, I bet you don’t apply the same standard to the father!
