Johnny Bananas and Farrah Abraham are looking for love, and are doing it on live TV.
The reality TV personalities are joining the cast of the upcoming dating show Pop the Balloon, debuting live on Netflix on April 10, the streamer announced. (‘Pop the Balloon’ is based on the popular YouTube series.)
“In the show, participants line up, and others ‘pop the balloon’ of those they’re not interested in, essentially eliminating them from the dating pool,” Netflix stated. “As connections form and tensions rise, one thing is certain: When your balloon pops, so, alas, does your shot at love on the show. The live version will bring eliminations, unpredictable dilemmas, and unfiltered romance straight to viewers.”
Farrah shared the news on Instagram in a post featuring eight red balloon emojis.
In addition to Johnny and Farrah, the cast will include Chase DeMoor from Too Hot To Handle, and Zaina Sesay from The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On. The show will also feature “everyday contestants” (AKA people who’ve yet to make careers out of appearing on reality TV shows).
The Challenge vet’s dating history includes Morgan Willett from Big Brother, who claimed Johnny cheated on her, and Lindsay Hubbard from Summer House, who Johnny went out to dinner with the weekend she was supposed to marry ex-fiancé and castmate Carl Radke.
Comedian and actress Yvonne Orji is set to host.
“After playing the ‘unlucky in love’ Molly Carter for five seasons on Insecure, I know a thing or two about looking for love in a hopeless place,” Yvonne said in the announcement. “Hopefully the singles on ‘Pop The Balloon LIVE’ will have much more success. As host, I’m looking forward to striking that delicate balance of heart and humor for our daters and the Netflix audience at home.”
‘Pop the Balloon’ will stream live every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET beginning April 10 on Netflix.
