Jenna Ronan’s Unexpected days are over.
The mom of two, who made her debut on the TLC series in Season 4, took to TikTok this week to announce that she will not be returning to film Season 7.
“Let’s talk about ‘Unexpected,’” Jenna said in the video, before going on to remind viewers that she started filming the TLC show when she was just 16 years old and pregnant with her son Luca.
“I am no longer going to be doing ‘Unexpected,’ it’s just not working,” she told fans this week. “ … It’s time to just not do the show anymore.”
Fans of ‘Unexpected’ likely remember Jenna explaining back in Season 4 that she became pregnant with her son Luca after being tricked by her then-boyfriend Aden Albright into not using birth control, as Aden allegedly told her she could only get pregnant by a guy who was “ogulating.”
No, seriously…

“Aden told me boys ovulate … ogulate just like a woman does,” she explained to viewers, to which Aden– while laughing– admitted, “Yeah, I lied to her!”
After eventually splitting with Luca’s dad in 2021, Jenna went on to date JJ Della in late 2022. The couple announced their engagement in October 2023, just weeks before welcoming their first child together.
Jenna went on to provide a brief update for fans on TikTok this week, noting that her son Luca is now five years old and will be starting kindergarten this year and her second son, whom she announced she was pregnant with towards the end of Season 6, is now a toddler.
“I think a lot of people get confused still and the number one question I get asked is if I’m pregnant still and where is my baby,” she said. “My baby that I was pregnant with at the end of Season 6, he is one-and-a-half years old now, his name is Jim Richard and that’s about it.”
Jenna confirmed in the comment section of her TikTok that a new season of the TLC series is coming and claimed that she only promoted it “not too long ago” because she was paid to do so.
(Back in October, Jenna posted a very enthusiastic TikTok announcing that casting for Season 7 of ‘Unexpected’ was underway. In the video, she encouraged pregnant teens between the ages of 14 and 17 who are expecting a baby between February 2025 and June 2025 to apply to be on the show, insisting it was “a really cool opportunity for any young mother.”)
“That’s pretty much my ‘Unexpected’ update … no more ‘Unexpected’ for me,” Jenna reiterated in her video, adding that she’ll be keeping fans updated on her life by continuing to share content on social media.
As The Ashley previously told you, social media is also how Jenna has continued to earn some pretty decent money. Back in December, Jenna revealed in an interview with Teen Vogue that she was earning between $15,000 and $20,000 a month from social media. The former teen mom admitted that without that income, she’d probably be working a minimum-wage job and still living at home with her dad.

I may be old school, but how does one make that kind of money through social media? Who is going to pay her for her image? She’s cannot be that important.
That show is dead. Tlc ruined it with the long breaks between seasons, and randomly axing good cast members and keeping boring ones.
I wasn’t a big Jenna fan. She seemed like a good mama, I just didn’t like her. I think it’s best she left the show anyway. What makes Unexpected so much better than Teen Mom is that the girls aren’t all rich and living lives unattainable by most teenage mothers, so now that’s she’s pulling in $20,000 a month, she’s not relatable anymore.
Let me guess….she’s going to be another “influencer”. I couldn’t stand her anyway. See ya!
