Ashley Jones and Bar Smith may be officially divorced, but the Teen Mom: The Next Chapter couple continue to disagree publicly about the events leading up to their split.
As The Ashley told you last week, Ashley and Bar’s divorce was granted after Ashley– who filed for divorce in August– appeared at a hearing in Nevada alongside a domestic violence advocate. While Bar had already been released from jail at the time of the hearing and had allegedly been notified about said hearing, he was not in attendance when the divorce was finalized.
In a comment left on a post by @teenmomshaderoom__ on Instagram, however, Bar wrote that he was “happy” to be divorced from Ashley. He also denied that his ex-wife notified him about last week’s hearing, despite Ashley claiming in the courtroom to have contacted him about it via phone and parenting app.

“ … [Ashley] asked for an address [to] send papers to then told me yesterday she went to a hearing, claimed that I was notified in jail many months ago, but that’s the same court date you see her miss … ,” Bar said, referring to when both he and Ashley failed to attend a hearing to settle their divorce in November– back when Bar was still in jail– resulting in Ashley having to re-file. Viewers watched the situation play out on last week’s episode of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.’

(As The Ashley previously told you, Bar was released from jail in March after eight months. The four-browed father landed in the clink following an incident in July 2024 with Ashley that resulted in him being arrested and charged with four felonies– including kidnapping and residential burglary– and a misdemeanor. All but the misdemeanor charge was dismissed last month.)
During last week’s hearing, the court reportedly stated that it found “clear and convincing evidence” that Bar “is a perpetrator of domestic violence.”
Despite this, Bar went on to claim over the weekend in his lengthy Instagram comment that he was a “victim” in his marriage, too.
“ … Once my other phone comes back I’ll be able [to] prove how many times I was victim as well, we will be going back [to] court for this as well,” he wrote, before going on to claim that Ashley didn’t even want to follow through with the divorce, despite how it looked on ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.’
“It’s crazy she’s going [to] this extent for the show when she was crying on the phone while I was in jail, claiming she was sorry and the [District Attorney] forced her [to] do all of that and she misses me and how good I look, and even mentioned us being together numerous times … .” Bar wrote.

Bar also claimed that Ashley had told him that her boyfriend wasn’t, um, satisfying her sexually and that she only kept him around to buy her things.
Bar then turned his rant to the subject of Holly, the daughter he shares with Ashley. (As The Ashley previously reported, Ashley was awarded sole legal custody of Holly at the final court hearing, with Bar receiving supervised visitation.)
Bar claimed that the first video visit he had with his and Ashley’s daughter, Holly, while he was behind bars– presumably the video call viewers saw Ashley setting up on a recent episode of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’– “wasn’t private.” He also insisted that Ashley used their daughter’s phone time with him to promise to help him get out of trouble.

“ … [Ashley] got the phone from Holly and cried and apologized 20 times saying she’s going [to] help me and do what’s right,” he alleged, before insisting that a certain email from the District Attorney “was fake” because it didn’t have the DA’s signature on it.
Bar ended his rant by accusing his ex-wife of lying about what happened between them during the incident in July.
“The gloves are off and I am no longer protecting anyone’s image or feelings, I have a 500 page discovery coming from my lawyer that’ll show she even testified and said I never touched her that day we just argued,” Bar wrote. “Even admitted that we’ve fought with each other and it was mutual a lot … .
“My name will no longer be slandered without me defending it period,” he continued.
Ashley has yet to respond to Bar’s comments.

oKaY bAriKi if ashley is so horrible then why don’t you and your pos brokie mother don’t fight for custody of holly and why were u still going in an out of jail when it had nothing to do with her those other times 😂 people are gullible af if they believe bar like of course he’s gonna keep saying nothings his fault
I’ve never liked Bar or his crackhead mom. What a weird relationship. She did absolutely nothing to teach her kids accountability. Always making excuses for them. Her and her sons are all trash. Bar will never do better than Ashley. I’m not her biggest fan, but she continues to try to better herself. Going to school, working and she seems to be a good mom to Holly.
I think everyone should stop giving this abusive manchild attention. Its what he wants. The only thing I want to read about him is that he’s taken accountability for HIS CHOICES…and that he’s had his insane mother locked up somewhere for the good of humanity.
