As the divorce war between Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi wages on, Angela has alleged in court documents that some of the moments between her and her estranged husband were “scripted” for TV.
As The Ashley previously told you, Angela filed for an annulment last summer, claiming that her Nigerian husband allegedly “fraudulently induced [her] into a marriage for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status in the United States.”
In his response to the annulment filed back in August, Michael– who is seeking a divorce in lieu of an annulment– denied the allegations of fraud, claiming that he did not abandon Angela when he disappeared from her Hazelhurst, Georgia, home in February 2024, but rather “fled an abusive situation for his own safety.”
Michael also alleged last year that Angela was “guilty of cruel treatment against him,” claiming that Angela “committed both physical and mental abuse”– both publicly and privately– during the course of their short-lived marriage.
In court documents obtained by In Touch this week, Angela filed responses to a list of statements that Michael wanted his estranged wife to admit or deny. While Michael’s questions were not filed publicly, Angela’s answers reveal very different accounts of the former 90 Day Fiancé couple’s relationship.
In one of her filed answers, Angela denied that she and Michael “engaged in sexual activity within the United States.” (As you may remember, Michael moved to the U.S. in late 2023.)
According to In Touch, Michael claimed in court documents that he and Angela had “physically consummated the marriage,” which took place in Nigeria in January 2020. However, Angela reportedly “denies the matter set forth in this request,” claiming that “TLC production created this product using snippets of other productions.”
Angela claimed that her husband “would produce multiple reasons why he preferred to sleep on the couch.”
Angela provided a similar response to another question submitted by Michael, while insisting that a particular scene that aired on TV “was a TLC scripted scene and [Michael] is acutely aware this was a TLC scripted scene.”
“[Angela has] zero control with regard to the actions of a multinational television network,” the docs state.
Angela also insisted that she had not made any revenue from appearances “in the past two or three years,” which would obviously affect Michael’s ability to get the spousal support he is asking for.
Angela did admit to having contact with Michael once since their separation. She stated that she had called him on the phone so her granddaughter could understand why he was no longer around.
“[The call was] for the sole purpose of his step-granddaughter asking to speak to her step-grandfather, as her tender age would not lend understanding to her of his abandonment of our family,” Angela wrote.
The self-proclaimed “Seksi Meemaw” also explained why an annulment is appropriate in the case, as opposed to the divorce that Michael is seeking. Angela stated that Michael “fraudulently” induced her into getting married so that he could obtain his permanent legal resident status in the United States. Angela also accused Michael of being part of group of Nigerian men who swindle American women into marrying them.
“After [Michael] abandoned [Angela], [Angela] discovered that [Michael] was engaged in a conspiracy with other Nigerian men to induce U.S. citizens into marriage for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status,” the filing read.
Angela is seeking to have her last named legally restored back to Deem, and declared that she and Michael have no joint property and/or joint debts to be divided. (In his own filing, Michael asked the court to have Angela pay him monthly spousal support— and an equitable division of property he says they acquired during the marriage.)
Michael has yet to response to Angela’s recent claims.
Angela and Michael’s divorce is ongoing.

Angela will say anything to try to make Michael look bad. She is totally lying about not having sex in America because on one episode, she couldn’t wait to get to bed. She is doing all this for attention just because Michael has gone on with his life.

Angela brought him here. She made the choice and even if he used her to get here, it is on her. She is the foul mouthed piece of trash I have ever seen outside of Jasmine. You wanted Michael Angela and if he used you that just shows how stupid you really are!
It just blows my mind how these overweight, not considered “attractive “ women by most standards, think these 20 year old, usually attractive guys really just want to marry them. I don’t mean this in a malicious way. I myself am overweight. Come on though. Danielle thought Mohammed was really that attracted to her? They look absolutely ridiculous. Angela looked like a crinkled up paper bag. Michael is young and for the most part attractive. These people must be just beyond desperate to fall for this shit.
I guess that’s one way to cite abuse allegations, but it’s total bullshit.. The show is unscripted, there are storylines, but it’s still unscripted.
Angela is an explosive abuser that lacks self-awareness. Her verbal, emotional, and physical abuse of Michael was sadly well-documented on the show. As was his very visible fear of making her mad. Was he an angel? No. But nobody deserves that treatment. I truly hope he gets his divorce and never goes back to her.
She is a nightmare and I wouldn’t believe her if her tongue came notarized. She is a attention whore who started on the Maury Povich (spelling?) show, which was probably scripted as well. She is a nasty vile person and Michael was lucky to get the hell away from her.
Well one of the 90 Dayers’ (Natalie?) NDA expired and she confirmed some of it is contrived (duh). She said the crew has the couples redo a disagreement and turn it up a few notches. However, scripted or not, Angela is an abusive, hot mess of a woman. Altho, I must say that amount of stuff she could stash in her bra was epic!
I agree with one correction: Angela first appeared on the Trisha Goddard Show before appearing on Maury. She took her daughter Scottie on the show to prove that Scottie’s bf wasn’t the father of her first baby. The DNA test on Trisha’s show came out that he is the father, but Angela wasn’t satisfied with that result so she called the Maury Show. She’d been seeking fame for years before she ever appeared on 90 DF.
