Jade Cline is one of the only girls from Teen Mom who hasn’t had another child since getting pregnant as a teenager, but on Wednesday, Jade said she hopes that won’t be the case for long.
During a TikTok Live session, Jade revealed that she and her husband Sean Austin are beginning the process of adopting a child. The couple— who share seven-year-old Kloie— is apparently in the early stages of filling out paperwork, according to Jade.
“We’re gonna start [the process] next week,” Jade said on TikTok Live. “We’ve already reached out to them and got the information we needed on, like, how do we even start this? Because we’re totally clueless. We don’t know how we start this whole process.”
Jade acknowledged that fostering to adopt a child is going to be difficult.
“People are like, ‘Oh it’s so hard.’ But, yeah, I wouldn’t sign up for something that I think is going to be a walk in the park,” she said. “But I think it would be so helpful for someone. And I think it would be helpful for my daughter to have, like, a buddy, and be able to interact and have someone here.
“My daughter, she’s such a good example [for another kid],” Jade continued. “She’s a good girl. She’s a crazy girl, but she’s a good kid. A really, really good kid. And she’s still innocent-minded. She’s a very young age. She still has that innocent mindset. When I was her age, I was seeing all kinds of stuff. She’s still a little girl.”
This is certainly not the first time Jade has expressed her desire to adopt a child. Back in 2021, Jade stated on Instagram that she wanted a second child, but desired it to be through adoption, due to her childhood history.

“I think in a few years I would like to adopt,” Jade wrote. “Since I was in foster care I definitely think it would be best for me to do the foster-to-adopt program. So many children in my state are in foster care and are in need of adoption.”
At the time of that post, Kloie was only three, and Jade stated that she wanted to wait until her daughter was at least five or six years old before she began the process to foster-to-adopt. (She also explained that Christy Smith is her biological mom, but she landed in foster care when she was in high school– most likely due to Christy’s substance abuse issues— and eventually “aged out” of the system.)
In a post to X in 2020, Jade also wrote about her desire to adopt.
“Really want to adopt my next child. I have so much love to offer and really want to give a child an amazing family and an amazing life. @ or dm me your adoption stories,” she wrote.
While Jade’s desire to adopt remains strong, she stated on TikTok Live on Wednesday that she and Sean also hope to have another biological child.
“I’m not done having kids. Not at all,” she said. “We want to have [more] kids for sure.”
Last March, Jade publicly announced that she and Sean were ready to expand their family and were no longer preventing pregnancy.
“I got off birth control,” Jade told E! News. “I’ve been off birth control for, like, three weeks. I ran out. I’m just letting God, God.”
She explained that she wanted to have her next baby soon.
“[We want to try] to have another baby before Kloie is too much older,” Jade said last year. “I want them to be apart in age, but not super far apart.”
Jade isn’t the only ‘Teen Mom’ cast member who is trying to get pregnant. Cheyenne Floyd and her husband Zach Davis have been open about the trouble they’ve had trying to conceive their second child together.
It is unknown if fans will get to see Jade and Sean begin the adoption process, due to the fact that Teen Mom: The Next Chapter is currently on pause and not filming. The show has not yet received an order for a third season.

I am not of fan of Jade, or teen mom either, but I will say she has always tried to do right by her daughter ( and family) , she has a hairdressing career, providing a home ( without going crazy like others) and now seems quite stable and happy, everyone deserves a 2nd chance and most of other TM are way past that
It’s laughable that these two really think their MTV $$$ is going to last more than a few more years TOPS. They have done a horrible job with Khloe and we all know they are only saying this for attention and to get praise from strangers online. They are both pathetic.
Foster parents receive compensation. They’re reimbursed for things such as food, clothes, medication, and other necessities. How much they receive varies by state and would be cut off once the child is officially adopted.
I figured I’d throw that out there for you to contemplate as you wish. I don’t know these people personally, nor do I regularly watch the show, so I’m not in a place to speak about their character and parenting. I just remember it being disastrous when their daughter was a baby, but people can change.
In my state even after the adoption , they receive around $850 per month per child till they are 18 yrs. They also receive a free college education, provided they stay within the state.
I think her heart is in the right place, but I don’t think either one of them is capable of handling the needs a foster child will have. They already struggle dealing with Khloweighy. Adding another child, especially one with trauma, is a recipe for disaster.

It’s highly unlikely they’d ever be approved. It’s not just a matter of filling out paperwork and magically a kid gets placed with you. I
Usually when people like this say they’ve started the process what they really mean is “we need attention, so we’re going to say something super positive that will keep us relevant, but we’re not actually going to follow through with the entire process”. They likely know they won’t be approved already.
These two aren’t ready to bring a new pillow into the family, much less a person.

We won’t see it play out on TV if they go through with it. Foster children can’t be on TV or on social media. I do foster care and wish I could give Jayde a wake up call. It’s the hardest thing you can choose to do in this life. I know she wants to expand her “sweet” family but you are bringing more trauma into an already trauma filled home. A child will move in that home and Jayde won’t be able to handle it and once again that child will be moved. It’s disaster waiting to happen. I hope I am wrong.

Oh yeah I can totally see this working. What with how patient Sean and Jade have shown themselves to be with their daughter…
Hopefully, playing the footage from one of the many instances where Kloie is sitting in a high chair and playing a tablet for hours in a soaked diaper will quickly disqualify Jade and Sean from adopting a goldfish, never mind a child.
Or one of the many times Jade and Sean were screaming at each other right in front of her.
Or perhaps even how many times Jade allowed her drug addicted parents live in the same house as Kloie.
How many cast members have announced plans to adopt? Do we have a firm count? I know the number that’s actually done it is ZERO. Publicity to try and save a sinking ship.
Jade and Sean can do as many staged happy family photos as they want. When I think of the way Jade and Sean parent Khloie it certainly hasn’t been with patience. They both are very short and snappy with her and they always have been. I don’t watch their scenes and come away thinking how much Khloie’s parents love her and what a happy family they are. Jade constantly harps on the fact that her mother has been and still is a drug addict. However if Jade needed a babysitter she allowed her mother to watch Khloie sometimes for days at a time. When Sean was on drugs if she needed Sean to watch Khloie Jade had no issue leaving her there either as long as it was convenient for Jade.

I hope her desire is sincere but with these girls I can only think “storyline”
